I would like to know peoples views on the news today that the FA are considering three sponsors for next years FA Cup

MacDonalds

Pepsi

Carlsberg

Big brands who will pay through the nose, but the point made is that we are looking at a healthy Britain and that hardly can promote the feeling of being healthy

Give your views and lets looks a ideas as to who we think should sponsor our Famous Cup

Here is my first one

ALL BRAN

Interesting point. It's usually the unhealthy ones that rake in more money though today so they would probably have more leeway to band their faces about a little more. And when you think about it healthy and organic type foods are always directed at the more healthy living type of people and really only have a limited market to go for. So people would be more apprehensive to start buying new healthier foods because they cost more and they can't be bothered with the fuss whereas the brands that currently sponsor the FA Cup have appeal to a widespread selelection of the population, are easier to get your hands on and have a sex appeal if you will. So alot of the advertising that would be put into the healthy foods could be falling on deaf ears and the unhealthy ones would be more appealing and the advertising would probably be more affective because the people at the game would be more open minded towards the brand. And then you have got to think about how you are going to be able to go about advertising healthy food in a way that would be more noticeable and more attractive and new advertising campaigns cost money that some brands cant afford to spurn. I think it would be fair to say that the majority of people who go to football games would consume more of the MacDonalds Carlsberg and Pepsi above rather than if you were to advertise such things as All Bran.
I don't really see a problem with it myself, i'm not really one to be swayed by advertising board but it would be better if there was more health orientated foods because football would be a good place to endorse it. Having football, where the players have to keep themselves fit and trim and then having foods that they most probably don't even eat is like a contradiction of sorts and puts across that the footballers probably use this stuff when in fact they dont.

For me the nature of the businesses involved isnt the issue. Its the fact that the are gonna rename the FA Cup!

It will devalue the prestige of the tournament in my opinion, just like every second year the name of the League Cup changes, hard to keep up with sometimes.

I dont think its a good idea, are Axa the sponsors now? Its not called the Axa Fa Cup.

I dont think it should have a sponsor unless its something like the Champions League sponsors which are PS2 and Mastercard but the names are not included in the name of the cup.

Like ForeverUnited said I dont see the point in doing it. People wont eat more at mcDonalds or drink more pepsi or carlsberg because of the FA Cups name. They will probably spent millions on it for very little gain
