Hibs |

My dad works between Dunfermiline and Newcastle right, so he gets to see a lot of Scottish football. he actually said to me that it was more exciting than the english game (at the time hearts were top) and kept ranting and raving about a guy called Ivan Sproule.
Is he really any good? he also says that in 5 years time if Hibs keep their squad together, Tony Mowbray as well, then they will be challenging for the title. really? |

Sproule was about to sign for the Irish team I support - Finn Harps but Hibs stole him from us at the last minute
Hes really quick and can score goals, he scored a hat trick against Rangers a few months ago. Hibs have some great young players at the moment, Riordan, O' Connor, Thomson, Brown, Whittaker, Sproule, Fletcher are all in their early 20's so if they hold onto them they will have a great team in a few years |

Derek Riordan is class. can't see why any of these dont get a game for scotland, or do they?

O'connor and Riordan get odd games, friendly's and so on. Though everyone knows that Caley are the best team in the SPL.

they would be the best if they had ever won the league or were somewhere near the top of the league. somehow i doub anyone other than celtic can claim to be the best spl team at the mo. |

Depends on the viewpoint.

Aye Sproules lightining quick and is a wee legend already, but to be honest he still makes amateur mistakes but he is improvong.
As for the comment about if all the Hibs squad where kept together, then in 5 years time we will be easily league champs! I doubt the squad will be kept together though. With as many good youngsters as we have, there are always the "vultures" who scavange around Easter Road and nick our players on the cheap. E.g Ian Murray went to Rangers for free and now Gary Caldwell is on his way to Celtic. |

What was the reaction of the hibs fans to Caldwell on Saturday?

He got booed at first but it seemed to really put him off as he done a stupid passback which cost us a goal! But he eventually played well and everyone clapped him.
Booing him isnt exactly going to make him stay is it! |

No, in 5 years time Mowbray will be senile and it will be even harder to understand what he says than what it is now! Hibs need some sort of financial backer to keep that side because they are really starting to fall now, and are looking at maybe 4th place at best for end of season, though I personally want to see them finish ahead of Romanov, sorry, Hearts. |

Good man Jarlthorfinn! But to be honest Hibs are in an ok financial state and the chairman has said Hibs arent under any pressure to sell players, finance wise.
I can still see us fighting for 3rd spot but its looking more bleaker every week. |
||||||||
|
|
|||||||||
|
If they get back to the form they had before Christmas when they were beating Rangers and Hearts then they would have a good chance of finishing 3rd. Id like to see them get it ahead of Rangers anyway

It's a brave Chairman that says NO to offers with a 9 million debt though, good on him for trying his best to keep the Mowbray team.
|
||||||||

|
Although we are £9 million in debt, Hibs made a huge profit last year so it all works out financially so we dont need to sell.
