Magpies dispel Owen claim

Newcastle United have moved swiftly to deny claims by Sven Goran Eriksson that striker Michael Owen is only with the club for money.

The England coach, who has been under fire on Sunday for comments he made to an undercover reporter, claimed Owen was also unhappy on Tyneside.

Eriksson's commitment to The Three Lions has been called into question after he reportedly hinted he may not see out the remainder of his six-month deal with The Football Association.

Owen joined The Magpies last summer from Liga giants Real Madrid in a big-money deal for the North East outfit and the former Liverpool striker.

In light of Eriksson's remarks, chairman Freddy Shepherd has spoken with the 26-year-old and has been informed the hit-man is happy in the North East.

"We have spoken with the player and he has confirmed he is happy at Newcastle United," stated Shepherd.

plus, if michael owen is unhappy in the land of god, then why the hell would he tell sven?

also, speaking of owen, have you heard about the pickle he's in? he obviously cant drive cos of his foot right, and his gf/wife (or whatever) has jus been banned for a month! plus she's due to give birth within the next month!
