Former Germany international defender Markus Babbel is staying in Stuttgart after clear-the-air talks with coach Giovanni Trapattoni.

The 32-year-old had been keen to leave the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion after only making four Bundesliga starts under the Italian this season, but Babbel now says he is ready to stay and fight for his place
