How about Man City's proper left winger? Petrov!

If you seriously believe that he's been the best left midfielder in the league this season... Well, I just don't know what to say really... I always see the odd person mention him in relation to good performances but I have to just assume that you're doing this off of highlight reels, I never really see City fans who watch him week in, week out raving about him. He can be very wasteful on the ball and whilst he may conjure up the odd moment of class, other times he just looks average. City have had a big problem with him this season in regards to defence, he often leaves his full back isolated and bogged down when the other team break. He's a decent player but he's not been the best left winger in the league.

And a side note, how can anyone put Vidic in their first XI but not put Rio in? Outside Ronaldo, Ferdinand has probably been United's player of the season....

Anyway, I'm going off this season.

----------------------------James

Sagna----------Ferdinand------Vidic-----------Evra

Ronaldo--------Fabregas----Gerrard------Young

---------------Torres------Berbatov/Adebayor

I'd maybe favour Berbatov as he has a better number of assists.

Fair enough. Admittedly i haven't seen that many full Man City games. I've seen a fair few though, and he has impressed me in them. Maybe it's coincidental. He has also looked good in the highlights. I don't think it's illogical to say he has been up there with Young (who you think has been the best this season).

Anyway, i like your team. I agree or was very tempted to put in every player you've included.

I think you have that the wrong way around. I was about to start shouting at people putting in Rio & leaving out Vidic.

Ferdinand, this season, has been the best centre half in Europe (from what I've seen). You obvioulsy rate these defenders who rely on last diotch challenges to win the ball whereas Ferdinand doesn't really need to. His reading of the game is second to none and intercepts alot of opposition passes cutting out the danger. This doesn't get noticed on Match of The Day so you wouldn't see much of it

Nope. Once tdv states his opinion on a certain subject, he lacks the ability to reassess said opinion at any time. He's been griping on Ferdinand for as long as he's been on this site and whilst maybe his opinion was correct to a certain extent once, he refuses to budge at all even on the merit of improvement.

Ferdinand has been absolute quality for 2-3 years now, cutting out the naiveity in his play on the field whilst settling down and maturing off it. In my opinion he has cemented his place as one of the best, if not the best defender in Europe.

He would certainly be United's player of the season if it weren't for Ronaldo. As a result he has been rewarded with the trial captaincy for England and will surely succeed as captain of Manchester United.

If you think that the back four look shakey with Vidic missing and Rio having to carry a new partner, we would be in a world of hurt if it was vice versa and Vidic was being paired of Pique or O'Shea.
