Ive been very impressed with Zenit in the last year, Great result in the first leg aswell. I think it will be a draw tonight though as Zenit are virtually already through and don't really need to go for the win.

Despite dominating possession of the ball in the second half, it finished 1-0 to Leverkusen, with Zenit going through 4-2 on aggregate. A real disappointment of a game indeed, certainly compared to the sumptuous, entertainment that Zenit served up in their 4-1 rout in Germany last week. The quality of the pitch compared to that in Germany was very poor.

Zenit had to be very careful yesterday as five of them would have missed the next game in case of getting a yellow card. That none of the five got it is even more important than the score itself though 1-1 would be certainly better.
Our chances against Bayern would be much better if our best defs Lomberts (the Belgian national team) and Kim (South Korea) were all right - but they aren't. So come what may all the more that Bayern seemed far from being a formidable top team yesterday. |
