yet again England get an easy group..... Rolling Eyes

Scotland though, just as we are beginning to create a team which I believe could bring some serious pride back into Scottish football, we get lumped with Italy, France, and the Ukraine..... Shocked

The only real hope would be to beat these teams at Hampden (whcih we've proven we can do) and then keep things tight away from home. These teams will all take points off of each other, including Georgia and Lithuania, and we might slip though in second.... Question

England got a good draw. New manager should have no problems dealing with this.

Ireland have a decent draw, it will be tough against Germany and the Czech Republic but I think we can beat them at home and hopefully get a draw away from home. Wales will be an interesting tie and could be a bananaskin for us along with Slovakia. We came through a tougher group than this in 2002 though when we had Holland and Portugal and we ended the group unbeaten so Im feeling good at the moment about the draw

Wales are out before we have kicked a ball haha. I think Welsh football is back on the decline Sad

As for England - they will breeze that group hopefully. Would of been nice to see them in Group B though. I would like to see them in a tough group. I think they would come through any of those groups to be honest.

Group C is wide open, Greece are not the team they were in 04 so any of the top 5 teams there could go through.

It's a good draw for Scotland, not for qualification but for Scotland fans to see some quality football at Hampden. I will be trying to get tickets for the France, Italy and Ukraine games.

However you never know we beat Holland 1-0 at Hampden, a one off game and the team plays well we might get 4th place afterall! Very Happy

Totally decent group for us , the new manager shouldnt see too many problems there.

While watching the draw i thought we were going to go straight in Group D.

Its not all that bad for Ireland, The Czechs wont be as strong when Nedved retires again and Germany are not the team they used to be. I can see us scraping through in 2nd

My prediction is...

Group A:Portugal & Serbia
Group B:Italy & France
Group C:Turkey & Norway or Greece
Group D:Germany & Ireland
Group E:England & Russia
Group F:Sweden & Spain
Group G:Holland & Romania

to guys from england who say you have an easy group: i think you'll fight for 2nd place...
i really hope we (CROATIA) and russia pass through qualifies... and i hope we kick your asses on wembley...
respect to my friend from scotland, i'm just angry that guys from england think they are in the centre of the world...

It's still 2 years away, and Staunton and Robson might pair well in sorting a good side out for it. We were so unlucky to get put out of the World Cup. France and the Swiss scraped through. Besides we've had great results in friendlies with such teams. 0-0 with Brazil, beat Portugal 1-0.

We have a lot of new young exciting players coming through the ranks also. Hopefully we get Duff on form for that competition also, as I thought he was lacking in the later WC Qualification games.

He isnt playing enough at Chelski and Keane has the same problem at Spurs but hes playing more recently though. We have Doyle, Kitson and Long at Reading, Trundle at Swansea, Kelly at Spurs and O'Brien at Bolton and ireland at Man City all coming through and McGeady, O'Brien at Newcastle, Stokes and a few more are all promising players for the future

Yup, they all are promising. Especially O'Brien at Bolton, McGeady & Stephen Ireland. Duff needs more games definetly. His form went down hill from this season with Chelsea.
