Well it was outside the area for starters, and i think Carragher got the faintest of touches anyway (although the referee wasn't really in any position to tell).

A shakey start from ourselves really. We tend to look nervous in these big games - Inter away, Arsenal home, now Chelsea home. Drogba was proving a handful and Joe Cole could've easily netted had he been more composed.

The goal should ease our nerves though. Once again Kuyt scores in the Champions League, and he deserved it for the part he played in the goal. He was beginning to get a lot of space down the right where Ashley Cole should be, so it was unsurprising that that's where the goal eventually came from.

All our attacks have really gone through Alonso and it's great to see him pick up a bit of form (when the seasons ending...). Him and Skrtel have probably been our two best players for this half. Torres has been largely quiet but he should have scored with probably the best chance of the half.

I'd personally get Benayoun on for Babel if the Dutchman continues in the shape he did in the first-half. This game isn't really for him because he's not the most composed player, and there's so little room or time to think and play the ball.

1-0 would suit me perfectly but i'm not convinced it'll stay that way. A goal for either side would spin the tie totally in their favour in my opinion.
