He's on the slow side too but if he's dirt cheap then who knows, maybe worth the risk.

@Del Piero, mate maybe that's your opinion of him. But I'll stick to mine. He may develop into a good defender(But not great, mind you), but I'll not be bothered if he goes. I didn't say I'll be very happy or sad of his departure. But I'll be indifferent to his stay or departure. Whatever the situation maybe, I hope Wenger signs a good enough CB...

Zamparini denies Amauri stalling:

Quote:

"The deal hasn't stalled, Amauri will go to Juve," he told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport on Thursday afternoon.

"The only thing that's bothering me is the attempt at extortion on the part of Grimaldi. I really hope that the regulators get involved in this."

"Milan? There's no other deal going on other than the one with Juventus," he added.

"Amauri will be a Juventus player, but without the golden handshake."

Problem is that the agent wants to cough up 2m for the paperwork and he claims Zamparini had promised this. Either way the deal is very unlikely to fail and the worst that could happen is for Juve to pay the 2 million, although Amauri can tell his agent to stop this nonsense. I'm sure Amauri wants to play for Juve too much to be denied by his agent.

On other news we have finally signed the new Ibrahimovic

Albin Ekdal signs 4-year contract with Juventus

Juventus Football Club have officially signed footballer Albin Ekdal from Swedish Club IF Brommapojkarna for 0.6 million Euros; the four-year contract with the player will end on June 30 2012.

Swedish attacking midfielder Albin Ekdal was born on July 28 1989 and has already played 4 seasons at Brommapojkarna in the Swedish League – 2 in the youth teams and 2 in the first team – and is a first-team regular in the Swedish Under 19 national team, where he has collected 5 caps and one goal up until now.

1 goal in 5 matches isn't bad at all for a youngster (International wise) .

Since when was Ibrahimovic an attacking midfielder? Or d'you mean in terms of footballing stature/ability?

Xabi Alonso to Juve: these are the conditions

Liverpool lays down the conditions for the sale of Xabi Alonso to Juventus. The Reds are asking 20 million euros for the player, five more than those offered by the Bianconeri. In addition, the player would get the green light to move to Turin only if Rafa Benitez is able to recruit Gareth Barry from Aston Villa.

Just that he is a Swedish star who has the potential to be an Ibrahimovic in his own way.

Guardiola Desperate For Trezeguet

New Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola is absolutely desperate to sign Juventus goal machine David Trezeguet, according to La Stampa.

rezeguet, who had yet another prolific season in Italy, scoring 20 goals to finish second in the race for the Capocannoniere, has been strongly linked with a move to Barca in the last few days as a possible replacement for want-away forward Samuel Eto’o.

A few days ago Juventus director Jean-Claude Blanc stressed that they would not consider selling Trezeguet, despite the signing of Brazilian hitman Amauri from Palermo.

Juve To Sell Trez & Sign Three Players

According to reports in Italy, Juventus will sell David Trezeguet to Barcelona before signing Xabi Alonso, Fabio Quagliarella and Rafael Marquez.

Trezeguet had a stunning season in Turin last season, scoring 20 goals to finish second in the race for the Serie A Capocannoniere.
Despite this the Frenchman continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona, with new Coach Josep Guardiola said to be desperate to sign the former Monaco man.

Barcelona are prepared to offer around €20m, and the latest reports in Italy suggest that Juve believe this is an offer that is too good to turn down, considering the fact that Trezeguet will turn 31 later this year. With the money they receive from Trezegol’s sale, Juve will then invest into signing Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso.

Juventus sign Paolo De Ceglie

The new 2008/09 Juventus side is taking shape. Next season, Claudio Ranieri will be able to count on Paolo De Ceglie too. The young player from Val d'Aosta, who turns 22 in September and spent years at Juventus' youth sector, returns to the team that moulded him and launched him at the top level.

Therefore, Juventus get one of their most promising youngsters back, after settling in their favour the joint-ownership deal with Siena; this year Paolo played his first (excellent) season in Serie A there, collecting 29 appearances and two goals.

Meanwhile, it has been decided that Andrea Rossi will stay in Tuscany. The lad from the Marche region, who grew up at Juventus too, and recently went on tour with them in China and Australia, has been sold on a permanent basis to Siena.

Director of Sport Alessio Secco commented the deal after the announcement was made. «With De Ceglie's return to Turin, our plan of getting our young talents who grew up at Juventus back is marching on. Paolo has done very well at Siena and we're sure he'll be able to show his worth to Claudio Ranieri».

From what I saw he's on par with Grygera so should be good. Inter aren't that far away really, we beat them up pretty well in the matches between us + we've got Amauri now and Sissoko from the start of the season.

We have a neat mix of experience and youth with Del Piero, Trez, Giovinco, Ceglie, Sissoko, Chiellini etc.
I think we're going to buy Lampard though or Van Der Vaart, especially the latter who's really impressed in the opening match of Euro

ha once again this clown thinks Juventus are better than they are. Van Der Vaart will join a top club if he leaves.

Juve are a top club.

I hear people regarding ac milan still as a top club, but they aren't even in the cl. juve are better.

AC Milan are a top club because they have a lot of world class players and the players clearly still think they are, hence why Flamini moved there. Juventus on the other hands have a mediocre squad despite a few great players and the players themselves don't consider them a top club which is why Lahm didn't move there and they are signing Amauri and not David Villa, Benzema or Eto'o

Just look at the players view of Juventus to see how 'big' a club they are. Players don't want to play in front of an empty stadium.

Beckham moved to Los Angeles, guess they were better than Madrid and the rest of the clubs which wanted him, had nothing to do with money Smile

Amauri is better than Benzema, he played for Palermo in Serie A and bagged almost as many goals as Benzema, who happens to be playing in the club which has one Ligue 1 for 7 years in a row.

Juve don't need David Villa or Eto'o, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Iaquinta, Amauri are doing just fine, aren't they?

PS: Lahm dumped Barca to stay in Germany, guess they aren't a top club too

I know, it's nice to have a small group of peopling supporting you in the UEFA Cup and always supporting you because you are a big club which never wins the league

Beckham did it for money and because he was at the end of his career.

Amauri is clearly not a more attractive footballer than Benzema. The entire worlds elite want him, and only Juve want Amauri.

Trezeguet might be leaving, Iaquinta isn't that good and Del Piero is getting on a bit although he's still got it for a few more seasons.

You can hardly mock the Uefa Cup having spent a year in Serie B.

AC Milan will back next year, everyone knows it. Every four or five years every team has a brief slump while they bring in the next generation, it's a transitional season that all clubs go through.

He could've at least carried on for 2 years, his form with England shows?

Do you actually read the news? Amauri was wanted by Roma, Chelsea, O so great Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid, his agent said it many many times, but he opted to stay with Juve as they play CL and are in Serie A. You said the exact same thing about Toni and guess what, it turns out the O so great Milan wanted him too

Iaquinta has scored as many goals as games he started for Juve

We were punished with point deduction, not outplayed by Fiorentina

Never happened to Juve in the last decade, shows the difference in quality of the clubs, huh?

Juventus Strike Deal With Liverpool For Alonso

Juventus have agreed a deal with Liverpool over Xabi Alonso according to Il Corriere Dello Sport and the player's arrival is imminent.

http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=734947 (Full Article)

He is a quality player no doubt and he's young too, although I don't know if he's the one to set Juve on fire with his dribbling skills or goal scoring ability.
