Point taken. I personally feel that Walcott is capable of holding it down as a RM winger. If we do bring someone else in, that'll again limit Walcott's time on the pitch and continue to slow his progress. He has shown as of late what he can do. Flamini is still a question mark as to if he's coming back. I honestly have no idea what Song's original position is, but he's one of those versatile players that can play in many different areas. Merida will not play in any EPL matches next year, unless it's against a lower table squad and we need him to fill in to give someone else a rest. He will headline the Carling Cup though. You can't forget Vela. He's a striker, but is predominately played on the left wing and he does a pretty good job there. That's where he plays for Mexico. But he will be a backup and also headline in the Carling Cup.
The word is by October/November he should be up and running and training. But with an injury like this who knows, no specific set date can be made. And once he comes back to training, how long till he regains fitness, then how long till he's comfortable with himself on the pitch. Him getting back mentally will be harder than him getting back physically. You can't expect him to come back in January and tear up the league and be as clinical as he was a few months ago. Hence the reason I'm writing him off for next year. |

personally i feel that eduardo never will be the same again if he see a tackle he probally will just back out and let the ball go i also feel that he speed will decrease look what happen to overmars and berkamp when they had there operation legends they still both are also Vela and Merida are going to be great players but there not ready to play in the league yet and knowing wenger will give them 2 season with just carling cup football than anything hopefully 1 day will win that either with our youngster still i feel that wenger needs to buy 2 or 3 experience players just for that backup while we wait for Vela and Merida to come through

Eduardo was never fast, and his game isn't based on pace. So he'll be fine in that aspect.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Internazionale and Real Madrid are reportedly tracking Lyon teenager Clement Grenier.
The 17-year-old midfielder is highly-rated in his native France, and it is claimed that his situation at Stade Gerland is currently being monitored by the European quartet. However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated that the club are keen to keep hold of the France Under 17 international. Aulas said: "This man will be a big star and Lyon are keen to profit from his abilities." Another kid wanted nothing changing then |

3 goalkeepers which seem fine. Lehman is getting on a bit, so might be wise to let him go and get either one of the top keepers in the world, or get a youngster and leave Almunia in goal.
Full-backs seem fine. One of the best centre back pairings in Gallas and Toure, but what happens if they cannot play? A quality centre back and maybe a youngster too. Maybe ship Senderos out or leave him in reserves for a year. Influx of central midfielders, most young. Could afford to get rid of at least one. One Natural winger each. Hleb is great as is Rosicky, but a natural winger is needed, if that suits the style of play. Yuri Zhirkov would be no. 1 target Plenty of strikers if he plays Walcott as one and brings Vela back and starts him. |

David Villa has revealed that, should he move to England, Arsenal would be his preferred destination.
With the Valencia striker insinuating that he may call time on his career at the Mestalla over the summer there is likely to be a whole host of clubs fighting for his signature. He has netted 63 times in just three seasons for Los Che, making him one of the most feared forwards in world football. Chelsea are known to be one his many admirers, with Avram Grant believed to have already enquired as to the Spanish hitman's availability. However, Villa appears to have dashed the Blues' hopes of taking him to Stamford Bridge by revealing that he would rather be a Gunner. Suited "I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I'm most attracted to is definitely Arsenal," he told The Sun. "Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all. "I think I'm made to succeed in England but of course it's one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it. "The Valencia president (Agustin Morera) always told me he wouldn't sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I'm hungry to test myself in England." Understanding Should a move to Emirates Stadium not materialise, Villa admitted that he would be equally happy to join up with his international team-mate Fernando Torres at Liverpool. "It's great playing alongside Fernando," he said. "We understand each other totally and we get on brilliantly off the park." Now that a top quality striker who we need someone like he Arsenal have to go for espically if he saying that he wants to come to the club |

Arsenal just need to buy some squad depth and someone quick and direct like Hleb but for the other side.
GK. CB cover. FB cover. Pacey AM/RWF Villa is class but with RVP, Adebayor and Eduardo do you really need him? I would say there are other areas to be strengthened first. The loss of Sagna was massive and he has been an immense signing for your lot. With him and Clichy you have the fullbacks I would dream of. They defend well, they are pacey and strong on the ball and they have an end product. Your CB partnership is good enough when it plays! Gallas and Toure looked strong start of the Season but gradually they played less and less as a partnership and my view was that Arsenal struggled due to this. Senderos isn't as bad as some of your fans make out and he is good cover to have. I would still look to have some experienced cover on the bench though. Flamini is the player that impresses me most time and time again at Arsenal. Sure Fabregas gets all the headlines but Flamini is quality. He runs the midfield along with Fabregas and as long as he stays your CM is sorted. Diaby is good cover and I don't feel this is somewhere Arsenal need to be overly worried about. Gilberto will probably go and it will be a good idea to have someone replace him either from the youth or just someone who can come in and do that job. Hleb is the best dribbler in the world for my money and with a bit more work on his end product he could take that step up to incredible. Rosicky is class as well and I just think that someone similar to these two, someone technically gifted who can run the ball but also have control over it to slow it down is the player you really need! Someone like Modric would be perfect (I hope you don't get him though because I want him at Liverpool!) Upfront you are sorted. Bring someone in to replace Bendtner, some young prospect and you are laughing. Adebayor, Eduardo and RVP will easily score enough. Overall this Season Arsenal just didn't have the strength in depth and that was what cost them. They were easily the best side in the Prem but it doesn't matter now. Think of it this way. If you set a world record time over 350m in a 400m race and then collapse, you win nothing! You need EXPERIENCED squad players to take you on to that next level and then you can really go on and win the whole thing or at least put up a better challenge than this Season (though for those of us that can look at things objectively, you have had a season to be very excited about.) |

Yeah no doubt but is Wenger ready to play him for 90 minutes? At the moment he seems reluctant to and would rather use him as a pacey option from the bench. As we saw against Liverpool, it can work (even if the end result was an unfortunate loss). |

You fail to realise that Eduardo will not be playing till January at the earliest. Like I've said before, I'm writing him off for the season, so that leaves us with 3 strikers, Adebayor, Van Persie, and Bendtner. Adebayor can play all year like he has this year, but the man needs rest; Van Persie, you never know when he'll get injured; Bendtner, is he really Arsenal XI quality right now, NO. Even with Vela coming back, he will be playing on the left wing, which is where he is currently laying at club and international level. Wenger will continue to play him there as he does with most of his strikers. Walcott will also continue to play on the right wing for another year (at the very least). |

all this basically says we another striker van persie probally somehow get himself injury again and bendtner is just not good enough he more of a defender than anything Liverpool at emirates this season hehe |

Let's not forget that Walcott's run against Liverpool, great as it was, was against an exhausted side who'd battled for 80 minutes. The reaction from that run is that he should play/start more but he wouldn't be able to such damage earlier in a match. He isn't good enough to be a regular starter in my opinion, not yet. |

That isn't the only time he's made a run similar to that though. That was by far the best run he's ever made, but he's had a few other great games before in the past couple months. I'm not sure how many Arsenal games you actually watch, but obviously I was every single one of them and my eyes don't stray from the screen for a second. The Birmingham match where he netted his first two goals in the EPL was his turning point. (I don't quite remember the first goal) But the second goal was created all by himself, cutting inside with the ball to create space and smashing it in the near post from a yard outside the box. Every cameo since he's performed with quality and has caused havoc on defenses with his speed. The only game I remember he had issues with was Chelsea where for some odd reason, they wouldn't get the ball to him. If you were watching the match, you could see at certain times when the ball was down on the left getting crowded out, you could see Theo standing on the right with acres of space but no one would get the ball to him. I don't see him starting every match next year, probably starting from the bench in the first couple months, but if he continues on his current progression (last couple months), then I see him being a regular starter by midseason. Of course getting players healthy and seeing who we bring in will truly determine how much playing time he gets. But we all do know he'll be a starter in the Carling Cup for certain. And he's got plenty of quality to start every now and then in the EPL to give Hleb and/or a new signing some rest. |
