Historicaly the most bitter rivalry in football has always been Portsmouth vs Southampton..

It stems back from the rival ship building firms back in the day..

As far as I am aware when the Portsmouth Dockers went on strike the ship yard owners drafted in Southamptons dock workers to carry on with the work , hence them being labelled Scummers..

In policing terms this local Derby has the highest risk category and has fuelled more violance in their few and far between meetings over recent years..

Good shout Robelido, there is no love lost between the two sets of fans that for sure - add in Harry Redknapp jumping ship, twice, and it certainly adds to the mix!

Great avatar by the way Laughing

Robelido! Haven't seen him since the good old days of the 2006 World Cup section, when there was such hatred and rivalry on here!

that is identical to the origins of the West Ham-Millwall rivalry.

while both rivalries are very intense this is only for 'premiership' rivalries Wink

The greatest rivalry in the Prem?
