Hi all,

I found this site via google and thought I'd come and tap your collective knowledge on football coaching.

I am an obsessive player and supporter (and aspiring coach) of this beautiful game of ours. I completed my Level 1 FA Coaching Badge in January 2005, but much to my frustratement I have as yet been unable to put the skills I learnt into practise due to being at University (this year I'm in Spain studying for my 3rd year - it's a hard life!). I am however very keen to begin coaching this summer, and would like to hear from anyone who has any tips or advice for finding opportunites, handling sessions, equipment needs etc.

As you probably all know, experience counts for everything in this game over awards therefore I am keen to build on my theoretic knowledge with more pratical based experience.

Its ok Andy atleast he has found the right section now, probably just finding his way around.

Unfortunately I cant help you as I have yet to start the courses etc but I know there are a few people on this forum who can.

It�s quite easy to get involved, if you live in England contact your local fa, or if you�re in Spain maybe they have local organisation.

While in Spain get out and watch experienced coaches, you will learn load, especially with technique, the Spanish have great technique. by watching someone with experience take notice of their preparation and structure

Look to see what equipment they use. At minimum you'll need bibs, ball and cones.

you say you have done the level 1, if you have enough playing experience (to compensate for lack of coaching experience) move on to the level 2, thats when you learn to coach football
