Well the big showdown is this weekend. I think it's time for all the hoopla to begin. Who's going to win and why?

I have a feeling that Man U will step up and win this one, will be a ot like a cup final and will be a great battle of the managers.

Come on United!

Prediction: Liverpool 1 - 0 Man Utd.

Reasons:
a)We are playing at home.
b)We need revenge.
c)That run of not beating United in a FA cup tie for 85 years has got to end and I have a feeling its tmr.
d)We are feeling rather confident at the moment after 2 clean sheets and 2 wins in a row.
e)Gary Neville will be scared after what he did... lol ... just kidding.

1-0 to Liverpool at half time.

If we lose this game, most of the brunt of criticism has to go to the way Sir Alex has shaped his team. Rooney our best player shoved out onto the right wing as an OUTLET Ronney is NOT an outlet player he is a CREATER! I think we should now match Liverpool's formation of 4-4-2 and play Rooney off Ruud instead of this nonsense! Yes they have a better central midfield but they are also winning 1-0 and if we continue the way we are then we aren't going to make a break through never mind a shot!
Where is the passion? I can't believe how Sir Alex has played Rooney out of the game, it's like he didn't consider him in his tactics before the game and I find that hard to believe!! If we don't draw at least it will not go down well! Rooney up top please!

Another solid performance from Rafas reds, and we're in the quarter finals and looking good again,we deserved to win and all the hard work we put in finally paid off,and the best thing is we got the revenge and Gary Neville was so quiet lol

Now bring on Benfica and the Man Utd players can watch us while they're sat at home Wink

YeeKiat is a happy man. A striker finally scored.

I hope we draw Chelsea in the next round. If they don't lose to Colchester that is.

Sir Alex let us down with his team selection it's as simple as that! He let all Manchester United's fans down! That was a complete and under diabolical tactic!

FLETCHER IS A [beep!] DONKEY!! IF HE HAD PUT SMITH IN FROM THE BEGINNING THEN HE PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE BROKEN HIS ANKLE EITHER! AND PARK ON INSTEAD OF THAT LAZY [beep!] RONALDO THEN WE WOULD HAS STOOD A CHANCE!

FERGIE THAT WAS A MESS!!

Where was the passion? We simply gift wrapped Liverpool the win!

where was the passion from United? and what was Fergie thinking with the format , half the players were out of posiotion. As much as it pains me to say it Liverpool deserved to win. Alan Smith's injury is a bad one , a broken leg and dislocated ankle Sad

Revenge is sweet! Very Happy A great performance all round, I was impressed with Hamann he held the ball well in midfield and didnt give united much time on the ball. Bring on whoever in the next round.

I felt sorry for Smith, He seemed to sit on his leg as the ball hit it aswell.

Gazza, What was wrong with Alonso?

I agree Smith should have started, probably instead of Richardson.Liverpool were just too strong in midfield on the day and just when we thought our midfield problems were beginning to sort themselves out.I never thought I'd actually look forward to John O shea returning.

Should have been in for that shambles Fletcher! He can't battle and he can't pass and he can't beat anyone with the ball! What exactly is his significance to our first team 11? Nothing.

It was nice to see that the Liverpool fans clapped Smith off , not something I would associate with them considering the tie.

Smithy, You'd be surpised by what us Liverpool fans are like at the Anfield, We clap for the away keeper when he's going into the Kop end goal at the start of the match or half time, But if he doesnt clap back he gets booed Laughing
I remember when I went too a game when we got knocked out by Bristol city about 13 years ago and the Kop stayed and gave Bristol a round of applause.

Its terrible for Smith! He is such a passionate player.

On the day, Liverpool were better, they outplayed us, dominated the game, and will now go on to win the cup in my opinion.

Tell you one thing, this Liverpool side just keeps on improving! They could seriously challange for the league next season!

i`m so glad Liverpool are through , it was a sickener for Alan Smith though , no one likes to see injuries like that happen to players .

Well only the Carling Cup now for Man Utd provided they can beat Wigan of course , i bet they would swap their place in the final to be where Arsenal are in the Chapions League with a match against Real Madrid coming up .

Great result Liverpool, looked really good and a striker even scored. But Smith's injury was sickening and I feel so sorry for him. I like Smith, he's a real terrier and fighter - hopefully his rehabilitation will reflect that.
