Typical Chelsea crowding the referee, what a joke. Corner comes in and ballack decides just to wrestle with Ronaldo and not look at the ball. A joke

Absolutely cracking game, such passion! You could tell both wanted it really badly.

Chelsea on the basis of play deserved the win imo, the United players looked [beep!] off with the ref but I dont think he did much wrong if anything.

Carrick pen was definite imo, wasnt another one later on. Think the referee had a good game.

F*king yes!!! GET IN THERE Chelsea!!!

I LOVE YOU BALLACK!!!!

I just hope Man U don't win the league on goal difference. That would be an awful way for Chelsea to not win it.

If Ballack got booked for going in crowd for the first goal. Why did he not get sent off for doing it a second time?

I disagree with them rules but thats the law of the game

Yeah great game. Man U defended well for most of the match and played good counter attack, old italian football style. Chelsea did what they had to, led the game without concede too much to the opponents apart Carvalho's mistake and the two saves on the line of the last minutes, entertaining match indeed

It was for taking off his shirt not going into the crowd and he didnt do it the second time anyway.

But he did go into the crowd which is a yellow card offence?

Tense finish to the game Drogba rag dolled the defense all day , winning 90% of the air balls United could not contain him .His set up for the first goal was heroic and then Ballack had the audacity to argue with him about the free kick.Always liked Ballack but he showed his immaturity on that issue. Two incredible goal line saves especially the one from Schevchenko , i thought that was in all the way, best thing he's done since signing for Chelsea.

Make no mistake about it ,Sir alex had Ronaldo on the bench because of his performance or lack of against Barca. If He would have played him from the start in this game Ronaldo would have been shut down as usual , and he will probably start to loose confidence .

In reply to Roonaldo's post.
You are correct Ronaldo will win the award ,but that doesn't mean anything to me whatsoever. We all have our own ideas of what makes a great player ,and mine is as simple as performing consistently in the biggest games.Ronaldo getting the award, especially after for the last few games i have predicted he wouldn't be as effective ,is only a sign of the lack of sophistication in those choosing who wins it. Ronaldo will win it but only a complete moron would think that his supporting cast had nothing to do with it.At the He came on as a sub had a few touches to start and one shot at the end but he again was very quiet 95% of the time he was on the field.
At the end of the day He's the top scorer for a team at the top of the table ,so it makes him an easy choice if you don't want to get a million questions from the casual fan as to why he didn't win it.

Laughing Laughing Laughing You really do sound like an idiot sometimes. Not saying you are but if you really beelieve all you post i might consider it

He rested Ronaldo because he is his best player, THE best player in the world right now and he wants him fresh for the second leg of the CL final which is the more important game given Man U could lose this and still win the title. Wink

It's funny that a game between the top 2 teams are settled by 3 defensive mistakes :
1 by Fletcher, 1 by Carvalho and 1 by Carrick.
I was a bit surprise Chelsea used nearly only the central penetration area and rarely the wing and that United did leave space for them in that area Shocked
Also the long ball game used a lot of time as well which is sad considering the amount of taleneted ball players available on both sides.

Great second half to a match I didn't expect to be half as good as it was - I don't think United can complain too much overall, they didn't turn up in the first half and Chelsea did well to respond to their pressure.

Really annoying to see the Chelsea players surrounding the ref as someone mentioned, but United did also.
That needs to be stamped out.

Chelsea ground staff and Manchester United players were involved in a bizarre fracas on the pitch in an almost deserted Stamford Bridge stadium after Saturday's Premier League match between the two teams.

None of the United players who played in the match were involved but players Patrice Evra, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Gerard Pique and John O'Shea were all warming down when an argument began with the ground staff tending the pitch.

Stewards quickly moved in to separate those involved but after the situation quietened down the row flared up again, although no punches were thrown.

The incident came a few minutes after Chelsea beat Manchester United 2-1 to pull level with United at the top of the table

I really thought Man Utd would win it, but Chelsea deserved their victory.

Essien will be back for the CL game against Liverpool and he played really well today. We really should have taken advantage of his absence in the last CL game.

Chelsea v Manchester United
