Albacete B's Belgian youth international Ritchie Kitoko has made a report to the police over racist abuse received from a Daimiel player during a match in the Spanish Tercera division (fourth tier) last weekend.

'He was insulting me throughout the whole match, with racist swearwords, and telling me to go back to my country and so on,' Kitoko was quoted as saying by sports daily Marca on Tuesday.

'You hear a lot of things on football pitches but this is too much. Also, after the game he attacked me and this should never happen. I am very angry, because it is the first time in my life anything like this has happened.'

The player's coach Antonio Gomez said: 'It wasn't normal what was happening with the insults and provocations which started in the warm up before the match started.

'Ritchie was very angry afterwards and didn't want to leave things as they were. It was his idea to go to the police.'

In a statement on Albacete's official website, the second division club offered the player their full support.

'Ritchie suffered serious racist and xenophobic insults from a Daimiel player, who also attacked him after the game. He had to be taken to the hospital when we got back to Albacete for treatment to injuries around the eye.

'Albacete will give him all the legal support necessary in his case against the aggressor, who has been identified.'

Racism is still widespread, i saw a interview with Dick Advocaat where he said Zenit cant sign any black players because of the reactions of their fans, they still have never had a black player play for them.
