Rafael van der Vaart could be bound for England after telling Ajax he wants to leave this summer.

The Dutch international has been linked with Manchester United in the past, while director Arie van Eijden also confirmed that the Holland international has had talks in Germany with Hamburg.

"We know that he doesn't want to sign a new contract and through his agent (Soren Lerby) he has informed us that he wants to leave Ajax," Van Eijden said.

Van der Vaart still has a year to run on his contract at the Amsterdam giants.

"I know through Lerby that Van der Vaart went to Hamburg last weekend," Van Eijden added.

"He informed this on Monday morning. There is no official interest yet, as far as I can tell. Up until now no club has called us with the news they want to sign Van der Vaart, so we sit back and wait for things to happen."

I dont see him going to either of those teams. I think there will be a number of clubs after him, including top sides in Europe. I dont think he will end up in the Premiership to tell you the honest truth, but time will tell.
