Naturally I believe United are a far better side than Chelsea, who managed to get a fortunate result at the Bridge with United NOT playing a full strength side.

My prediction is Manchester United to win the EPL and Champions League, with Ronaldo finishing as top scorer in both competitions, as well as becoming World Player of the year to add to his second consecutive PFP award.

I further predict that Specnur will then eat his words, renounce his biased belief's and hail Ronaldo as the best player on the planet THIS season. Then I predict that I will win the National lottery

If Ronaldo bothers to turn up for the final, unlike the games against Barca, then i think Man United will have too much for Chelsea. However, i dont know if he will. It has been said many times before that he doesnt do it in the big games, they dont come much bigger then the CL final. This is Ronaldo's chance to answer those who say he doesnt do it in the big games (me being one of them). Im going to go for a Chelsea win, 2-1. Man United look like they are going to win the league but Chelsea will have the momentum from their extra time win against Liverpool. I think the final means more to the Chelsea players. Im not saying that Man United are not bothered but thats just how it looked to me.

I guess it depends what you might call a big game Jac. Would Newcastle playing in the Champions League be considered a big game for you, or maybe Newcastle playing in the quarter final of the Champions League.....is that a big enough game for you. The fact is....the rumour that Ronaldo doesn't do it in big games first emanated from Italy last season during the games between United and the Italian sides Roma and Inter. History shows that Inter went on to win the competition with Kaka named World Player of the year as top scorer in that competition.

This season....they are hailing Ronaldo in Italy as a genius after his performance in knocking out Italy's second placed club Roma. Is that a big enough game for you? Ronaldo is top scorer in the Champions League..... Don't jump on the Specnur bandwagon and believe the rubbish he spouts about Ronaldo. The boy is a genius.....there is no doubt about it....and all the top teams in the world would love to sign him.

anyways. if you look at Man Uniteds games agianst Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, roma, lyon and barca this season ronaldo has scored two goals in the 12 games. All i said is that he doesnt do it in the big games. If you have read some of my other posts on ronaldo you would know that i think he is the best player in the world and that i think hes great. You cant say that ronaldo played well against barca but it doesnt mean he isnt the best player in the world. Its about time he showed us what he can do in the big games though.

I mentioned Newcastle because I wanted to know what you consider a BIG game to be.....if Newcastle were playing in it. The point I was making is that Champions League games are ALL big games and Ronaldo is the top scorer in that competition as well as in the TOP football league in the world...the EPL.

As far as Ronaldo playing against Barca.....you can read my comments on the Messi v Ronaldo thread. They were playing in completely different roles. Messi did NOTHING that caused Man Utd a problem they couldn't deal with at Old Trafford, whereas Ronaldo created the goal for Scholes.

when did i say ronaldo is overrated, i love watching him play. i cant believe you compared me to him. You speak to most of the people on here and they will say the same thing. Its fact. i know you can argue that just because he doesnt score in the big games it doesnt mean he hasnt played well. But when we talk about ronaldo this season we talk about his goals!. i know messi did not create many goal scoring opportunities but you cant say he wasnt a problem for the defense. and saying ronaldo created Man Uniteds goal is a joke. he didnt pass to scholes. I guess you missed both Barcalona games!THe recent games against Chelsea and Arsenal.Even against ten man Liverpool he could n't do a thing until,they ran out of steam.He's got 4 goals against the top 4 in the prem man city (derby game ) makes 5 big games in the prem and he has 4 goals 2 of which was aaginst Everton in one game 1 against the depleted Liverpool and one against Arsenal.If that sound like someone who should be recommended for best player in the league then that's your choice ,the best in Europe would be outrageous.His perforamnce against Roma was a good performance only because Rome currently are near the top of their domestic table.His games against Lyon were ok ,but Lyon are not exactly known for the defense.

Holding midfielders.Those teams with the best holding midfileders always shut him down Chelsea (makelele) Arsenal (Flamini) and Liverpool (mascherano).If you notice that mascherano was sent off in the Liverpool game in which Ronaldo was able to score and if i'm not wrong i think he scored after mascherano left the game.All three players are strong and quick.Chelsea and Liverpool benefit a great deal from the holding player because their backs are a touch slower tha Ronaldo.Arsenal on the other hand have the impressive Clchy who ronaldo has no chance against ,but flamini is able to act as cover for Toure who is probably faster than ronaldo ,but not quicker.

It doesn't take rocket science to dismantle all the hype given to Ronaldo as it is baseless if you are able to look deeper into it.

make no mistake Ronaldo is a fine player he has so much dimension to his game that it makes him a special player and head and shoulders above the majority of players in the world.But the big games are supposed to be what a player getting his attention thrives in.That hasn't been the case as mentioned in detail above.
