True, but not football wise. Sure song fans may sing some offensive songs, but at the end of the day people have always done that wherever you go in the world and its a part of football that i would miss if it got really clamped down on.

there have been countless violent altercations between sets of fans from clubs including Celtic, Rangers, Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen to name but a few. to suggest your countrymen are completey innocent of such 'crimes' is absolutely laughable.

pockets of incidents have been occuring in Spain. the reason we know about them is because they get reported. there are hundreds of violent incidents every week, many of them in scotland and yet they will not get mentioned for the above reasons. the generalisations you make towards the spanish are a touch sad. i could suggest you and your countrymen are little more than ginger, skirt wearing, whisky drinking, skag injecting, teen pregnancy ridden, crime filled, unemployed, uneducated sheep gut munchers. but i wouldnt dream of it.

I'm not saying there is never any trouble at Spanish football grounds and I remember when England
played away in Spain a few years ago in Madrid and the Black players were subjected to monkey chants
through out the game....I was embarrassed to be Spanish that day like most of my fellow countrymen.

please remember Spain is only a young democracy and its only 30 odd years since Franco passed away.

I know for sure football fans in England are not reflective of the general populace. Not all Spanish people are racist obviously but there is a vocal minority attending football matches who are and the Spanish authorities need to do a lot more to stamp it out.

The problem is people here don't see it as racist attacks. They see it as another insult, not different from other insults like "son of a b*tch" or "b*stard", if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I'm sorry if you (DFC-TEVEZ) were unfairly treated by our police, but I'm quite disappointed at your comment. If you don't like it, why do you want the others to suffer it?
By the way, it's not true to say we don't respect the tourists. Spain is the country who most tourists receive per year in the world, I think that means something. If you are not well treated, I don't get why you keep coming. And don't tell me it's because here it's always sunny, cause there are other countries with a big sun in the sky. You must admit Spain is a good place for tourism, in almost every way.

i agree. while never having actually been to mainland spain i have been to the Spanish Islands many times (Balearics etc) and have always found the people to be polite, clean, good humoured and good natured people.

i have no complaints about Spain or its people and can fully understand your reaction and disappointment at such comments.

in all honesty i can also understand how the whole 'racism' thing is played down in spain as well and how it is viewed as equal to any other insult. this country puts racism on a pedestal as though it is a taboo which only encourages it from some quarters anyway. combating racism is a two way street. simply saying 'you cant say this because its bad' just wont work.

im quite intitled to what i said we were in spain and 2 english boys were being slashed to bits by this spaniard we then help them by taking the spaniards off them and the police became heavy handed with us we didnt hit the spanish boys we simply pulled them off and made sure they no longer had the weapons.
