Gazza in hospital again

He was released from Middleton St George Hospital in Darlington after two weeks.

In this weekend's incident police were called to a four-star hotel in Knightsbridge.

In February, Mr Gascoigne was asked to leave Newcastle's Malmaison Hotel after a disturbance.

Later the same day he was detained by Northumbria Police at Gateshead's Hilton Hotel, when concern was raised about his behaviour.

In January 2005, Mr Gascoigne - nicknamed Gazza during his football career - was hospitalised with pneumonia and last year he underwent emergency surgery for a perforated stomach ulcer after being taken ill as he was celebrating his 40th birthday.

He was arrested for an alleged assault on a photographer outside a Liverpool city centre hotel in 2005. The charges were later dropped.

A former player with Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, Glasgow Rangers and Middlesbrough, he was sacked after 39 days as manager of Kettering Town in 2005.

He was capped 57 times for England.

the hotel staff phoned the police before as he tried to order steak but without the stake just the knife and when the police arrived he was trying to commit suicide by drowning himself in the bath

I fear he is circling the drain big Gazza is. Will be a sad day when he passes away.

I wonder where all his old 'mates' are now who egged him on and sponged off him for years, probably onto their latest meal ticket Mad

Unfortunately he is to far gone now. Personally I don't think there is any way of him recovering from all this, and it is a huge shame.

ehh not really.i support leeds and not united.gazza was great.but money ruined him.like it ruined merson and adams but they got over there habbit.unlike gazza.his own doing

It dosent matter who it is....Its always sad to see any great player in such a sorry state...

The same with Amy winehouse...She obviously has a talent for singing but is destroying herself.

I wish him a speedy recovery and hope his parents and family manage to sort him out.

Agree with these,it's a massive shame how an England legend and superb footballer can go downhill so rapidly,it's just like the George Best story all over again Crying or Very sad

I dont think it was money at all that ruined him, if you read his books he gave most of it away and it was never really the important thing for him.

Think it was more the pressure of fame, and his inner demons that drove him to release tat pressure in ways that arent positive.

I think a lot also is due to how he misses playing football so much too,he always said he misses it like crazy and that he's always bored since retiring

Where's his true mates , he needs them more than ever. It's a shame he can't stay off the booze and drugs , he's got talent there that could be put to good use in bringing through the youngster in football. Surely one of his old footie mates can help him. I think if he got job in football this would sort him out , give him something to live for.

yeah jono i did read his book.was a good read,he had a tough life,but so do alot of people.there is something inside gazza's mind that isnt right.poor lad

yeah ...i have to agree 100% , it is like the George Best bandwagon ......he was indeed a footballing legend and had the world at his feet ...but gave it all up and destroyed himself in the end ...despite the numerous attempts by family and friends to help him after his liver transplant ..

With Gazza it is almost a carbon copy situation ...but without the legend status ....Ian Wright has said the FA should help him ...give him a job or something . He has been given help over the years ....but has let down his family , friiends ....etc . He needs a prolonged period of rehab .....months ....and prove to everyone that he wants to get better ..

Not sure that will ever happen .....
