Rijkaard won't continue and Guardiola will be his substitute. Guardiola played for Barça when Cruyff was the coach and this season is the coach of Barça B. I don't like it, I wanted Mourinho Crying or Very sad

I don't think Mourinho is really suited to the Barcelona style of football.

Mourinho's football would have bored the Nou Camp, which made his appointment seem like a non-starter.

Dunno about Pep Guardiola though. I'm not sure the inexperienced route is a wise one, even if he was captain as player. It's a risk.

Mourinho was in Barça 2 or 3 years and is an inteligent man, he knows what Barça fans like and I think that Barça had played well with him. With Bobby Robson and he Barça scored more than 100 goals in La Liga.

If he was so intelligent why didn't he use the several hundred millions Abramovich gave him to create one of the best footballing sides in the world? Because, i think, he couldn't. If he could've he would've because it would have spared him his job.

It's difficult to judge a man when he's playing 'second fiddle' to another manager.

Well he won 2 Premiers and played semifinals of the Champions, not bad. Madrid and Man Utd are the two ricchest clubs and haven't won the Champions in the last 5 years.

What? He walked the Premiership two seasons running and got one semi final and lost to the winners in the other.

There is no doubt Guardiola was a fine player for both Barca and the Spanish national team..

I just don't think they would give such an important job to somebody who has no experience
coaching at a high level and I would be very surprised if he was to be the next coach for them.

Maybe one day yes when he has a few more years under his belt coaching but not right now...

There is still every chance Mourinho could turn up at Camp Nou instead of the San Siro!

Isn't official because the club is waiting when the season finishes but is 100% sure that will be the Barça's coach next season, all the medias say it.

putrum6, so with that 100% being what it is, and Rijkaard always contending he would not quit, then it will be Barcelona firing him, yes?

While a bit off subject, I'm not a Mourihho fan by any stretch of the imagination, but to imply he's 'not intelligent' is a bit humerous. He is a proven winner and has the football knowledge to be successful no matter where he goes.

Mourinho has only ever managed a club for 6 seasons.

Season 1: He took a small Portuguese club to 5th place their highest ever finish.

Season 2: He won the Portuguese League, Cup and Uefa Cup with Porto

Season 3: Portuguese League, Champions League - With an average CL side no less.

Season 4: Won the EPL and League Cup in his first season in English football, CL Semi final (Set league records of most clean sheets, fewest goals conceded, most victories, most points earned)

Season 5: Won the EPL, League Cup,

Season 6: FA Cup, League Cup.

That's 10 trophies in 6 seasons as a Manager, definitely not a winner there.

Like I said, you don't need to convince me, it's obvious his record speaks for itself. Thats why I found the comment implying he 'wasn't intelligent' to be humorous. Wink

Rijkaard and the president have a good relationship, then I'm sure that will talk and there won't be any problem, Rijkaard will understand the situation and will leave the club without problems.

What? Read up and see i was talking about his style of football, not about his ability to be successful.
