Paul le Guen is set to join Arsene Wenger at Arsenal next season, according to reports.
The 41-year-old Frenchman announced on Monday that he would be leaving Lyon after guiding them to four consecutive Ligue 1 titles. "I was offered the chance to stay on for another three years, but I decided the time was right to move on," he said. Le Guen was rumoured to be moving to Paris Saint Germain - a claim he has since denied - but the Guardian now suggests he will end up at Highbury. Wenger is a known admirer of the former Rennes coach and would love for his compatriot to succeed him at Highbury. It is thought that Le Guen would take up a coaching position initially, before eventually taking over the reigns when Wenger 'moves upstairs'. |
