Swapping Giggs for Valencia would be more realistic.

As good as Saha is, i can't see him going to a big team when he leaves Man U. He is injured so much, i just can't see him doing much in football at all. I think he could end up retiring bin the not so distant future.

Apart from spending a good amount of time injured and sitting on the pitch when he did play , what exactly did he do for Utd. Saha wont be a miss at all.

UNITED are being linked with a trio of players as Sir Alex Ferguson prepares to start his summer transfer business.

Sevilla’s Brazilian duo Luis Fabiano and Daniel Alves are on the Reds’ radar, with a £30m offer on the cards.

And Fergie is favourite to beat Chelsea and Arsenal to Cardiff’s Welsh wonderkid Aaron Ramsey.

United’s chief scout Martin Ferguson has watched Fabiano, a 27-year-old striker, and Alves, a potential replacement for Gary Neville, numerous times this season.

Both are Brazil regulars with Alves, 25, regarded as the best attacking right-back in the world.

He was a target for Chelsea last summer who this week swooped for Jose Bosingwa.

United are said to have already opened talks to land Ramsey from the FA Cup finalists.

The midfielder, rated at £5m, is one for the future but has already caught the attention of the Reds’ main Premier League rivals.

I believe these are United's real targets for the close season.

Rio Ferdinand has signed a new deal with ManU until 2013...

Quote:

"Rio's contribution this season has been a major factor in our outstanding defensive performance and I am delighted he has signed a new contract," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson also fuelled a growing belief that the 29-year-old has been earmarked as the club's next captain.

"Rio has matured into his role at the club and has shown, when needed, what a great captain and leader he can be," said Ferguson.

"It is a great honour to be part of this trophy-winning team and to share in the success, which I am sure will continue for many seasons to come.

"I would like to thank the manager, the coaching staff, the players and the fans for the tremendous support they have given me since I joined the club."

Silvestre hints at Bordeaux switch:

Quote:

Manchester United defender Mickael Silvestre admits he could be tempted by a move to Bordeaux, provided the French club can meet his salary demands.

"It isn't impossible," the 30-year-old told a press conference.

"Bordeaux is a club which is close to my heart. When I was little, I followed their exploits in Europe. Moreover, I have family in the Gironde region.

"But each player has to be satisfied in a sporting sense as well as financially.

"There are no gifts handed out here. I am not a good Samaritan."

This is not what ManYoo fans wanted to hear. Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to confirm that he'll be at Old Trafford next season and hinted that he may want to leave after the Champions League final. When asked about his future he said 'Let's see what happens', and casually mentioned the name 'Real Madrid', which is bound to make heads explode in Spain.

What a load of bollco@s as if he is going to leave maybe when he is about 28 or 29 but know way at the end of the season.....

What confuses me is were do real get all this money.....i know there one of the richest clubs in the world but a couple of years ago the were in multi million pound debt...if ronaldo where to sign he would cost a world record transfer fee lets say 50 - 60 million now i know they would generate a commercial boost and popularity of the club but how do they finance such a deal as well as spending maybe 30-40 more on other palyers.....

Oh yes and to add he should join just to see baboon face freak out

I don't think it's any secret that he would like to play for Real Madrid and he may end up there at some point in his career. I listened to the interview he gave last night and he said he was happy at United and wanted to stay, but when asked if he would be there next season, he said "who knows, no-one can predict the future". The top footballers are better advised these days with regard to commercial awareness, and the fact that Ronaldo is in the process of discussing a new contract extension at United just might have something to do with his responses to the interviewer.

However, the majority of neanderthal Man United supporters will not appreciate his response, like most supporters, they want the wearing of their team strip to mean something to players more than the money side of it, loyalty, pride, a love of the club......unfortunately Ronaldo doesn't have those values, he's a mercenary like most foreigners playing their football over here.

Time may be over, says Saha

Saha said: "The future isn't in my hands, but I'll try to make it happen for me.

"I know this could be my last game, and I would understand if the manager went for another striker. It would be painful if he did because I love the club so much.

"I can't speak about my future too much really now, though. It's about the club. The main thing is to win the Champions League and maybe that will change things."

Not big loss for United I'd say. But they have to buy a decent enough striker in this transfer window...

maybe he needs to learn something like.. if you do well in epl.. doesn't mean you'll also do well in other leagues.. some players can't just make it..

take henry for example.. i heard he's in the list to be traded.. he just seems not to fit for la liga..

and i also heard pique's leaving.. any confirmation about it?.. Sad

I heard Barca want him but don't yet know if he will leave ,hope not , as he's a good prospect for the future. But will he be satisfied to sit behind Vidic and Ferdinand. I doubt it.

erm yeah.. but then vidic's been kind of fragile lately.. i mean his nose.. very prone to be bleeding just for a soft hit.. so there's always a chance to play.. right?.. Very Happy

i'm also sad to hear silvestre's leaving.. i think he's a little bit better than o'shea.. oh man.. each time o'shea plays.. he really doubles the tense.. Sad

i can still handle it so far.. but no guarantee for next season though.. so i'm recommended by anyone to stop watching Man Utd live matches.. and follow the replays as well to reduce the tense..

Yup.

Carrick signs on for four more years:

Quote:

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I am delighted Michael has signed a new contract.

"Michael has been outstanding since joining us from Tottenham and it is great to know he will be a part of this squad for many years to come."

He(Carrick) said: "Manchester United is a fantastic club and it is a pleasure to be part of this great squad.

"I believe this team will be together for many years to come.

"To win back-to-back titles in my first two seasons at the club is a dream come true."

He's been playing well for United and I think its a good for both United and Carrick...

DANIEL ALVES has put Manchester United red alert by saying he wants to leave Seville.

The Brazilian ace was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer before Blues owner Roman Abramovich refused to cough up £25million.

United hope to bring in the right-back as a replacement for Gary Neville but face stiff competition from Barcelona.

The Catalan giants' new boss Pep Guardiola has also targetted Alves as well as his Seville team-mates Christian Poulsen and Seydou Keita.

The interest from two of Europe's biggest clubs has unsettled the 25-year-old and he has revealed he is ready to move on.

Alves said: "I really want to leave now and I hope that everything will be finalised as soon as possible."

Not a massive fan, especially for the type of money surrounding him but I wouldn't be upset if he came. Doubt it though.

ManU are looking at two French teenagers. They are, 15 year old Rennes left back Jeremy Helen who is one of the most sought after teenagers in Europe and was also being chased by Inter, Real Madrid, Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal to name a few. The second is the France under 16's captain Darnel Situ who is currentloy under contract at Lens.

Hélan has been signed by United but having already signed a pre-contract for Rennes ( Hélan trains at INF clairefontaine) there is a legal problem that lawyers are dealing with

ahh here i go with my first post on this interesting site... i feel:

1 - Ronaldo wont go, he says he'l make a decision that will make himself and his club very happy. he is, in his words ''very happy''.
2 - We do need a striker, if we had that extra option this season then i feel the league would have been won before the last day Smile.. that said, i dont want to see a player as immense as Tevez having to fight for his place.
3 - Right back, i wouldnt mind if we didn't get one, Neville can last a season, and Brown has proved this season that only he can do the job for united.. unbelievable player this season.

So i say we'l buy a striker for a huge amount of money, taking no chances... i do see united pushing for a right back for the long term but i wouldnt think its at the top of their agenda.
