I dunno where to post this rumor and I searched for the Inter Thread and I couldn't find one. So I've created a new thread for it...

Inter Milan: Roma's Aquilani is their No.1 target

Quote:

According to reports from Italy, reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan have made Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani their top summer transfer target.

Inter are believed to be in contact with Aquilani's father and have reached a preliminary agreement.

Earlier in the season, Arsenal and Valencia both handed in bids, while Chelsea were believed to have tracked Aquilani when he was just 16. But Roma rebuffed all their bids.

But now Inter have also made contact with Roma and there were talks about including players, rumoured to be Julio Cruz or Hernan Crespo, in the package to bring the cash price down.

I dunno about Aquilani. Is he good???

I think 'Del Piero' also posted in the Juve thread that Juve are also chasing Aquilani right???

He's decent but did nothing any of the time Man Utd have played them. De Rossi is their real star, aside from Totti that is.

Aquilani is a better player than De Rossi imo, he's one of the most promising CM around and already a great player if we lose him we'll do a huge mistake

His contract expires in 2010 and that could be the reason Roma will sell him

Roma can't hope to win Serie A by selling their best players.

Crespo happy at Inter:

Quote:

"Even if I have played little I am happy and I want to remain at Inter," admitted Crespo.

"We will see what the club decide to do in the transfer market."

"I'm not thinking of leaving even if (former Chelsea boss) Jose Mourinho comes to Inter or if coach Roberto Mancini stays," he said.

Aquilani is a very good player. Apparently in talks with Arsenal at the moment. I'd be really happy if we could sign him.

Aquilani is a very promising CM. He has a great ability to go on penetrative runs, through the oppositions defence. Quite similar to Rosicky but with less technical ability.

He impressed a great deal against RMA in the CL and he's still young. Doubt Inter will snatch him as he is going to be a starter in the international team soon and he has all the talent one can ask for. He's closer to a Pirlo than a C. Ronaldo.

Inter Chief confident Mancini will stay:

Quote:

Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini has an "80% chance of remaining at the club", according to the Nerazzuri managing director.

"There is an 80% chance that Mancini will remain at the club," he said.

"Mancini will have a meeting with the club president (Massimo Moratti) to decide on a mutual programme."

"Had nothing happened against Liverpool we wouldn't be talking about this," said Paolillo.

"The fact is that the team wants Mancini to stay and he needs clarity."

Agent slams Lampard Inter link:

Quote:

Agent Steve Kutner insisted there was "no truth" in the rumours, saying: "I don't know why Inter Milan would think this. Nobody has talked to me and I am good friends with the owner, Massimo Moratti.

"I took Paul Ince there, I took Patrick Vieira there - if there was something on, I am sure I would know.

"He needs to get away and sort out his personal life and when he has done that we will sit down and talk about his future in football.

"After that, we will talk to Chelsea and that is as far as we have got - there is nothing in the pipeline and I don't know why this has surfaced now."

Mancini has left the club, claims agent:

Quote:

De Giorgis suggested that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been lined up as Mancini's replacement.

He told Sportitalia television: "Roberto never expected it to end like this.

"As an outsider, I could rationally understand that something was not right, but that is the way things have gone.

"Roberto is very disappointed also because he has not yet finished his job - he wanted to try and win even more league titles, and maybe even the Champions League.

"Now Mourinho will arrive and he has only got to repeat what has happened in the last few years.

"Roberto is now considering making a statement to avoid gossip and it should be a statement praising the president and those who worked with him.

"Certainly he is shocked and has taken it badly.

"I have spoken with him and he sounded quite down, but tomorrow will be even worse."

Mancini is now linked with Chelsea...

Quote:

"He thought he would have a month of holiday now before returning to Inter and continuing to win. Maybe now it will be a bit longer, but I hope somebody calls him [with a job offer] as early as tomorrow because it is never good to be out of work as a coach."

Reports in Italy suggest Mourinho arrived in Milan on Tuesday evening and may be presented as the club's new coach as early as Wednesday.

Mancini has been linked with the vacancy at Stamford Bridge, created by Saturday's sacking of Avram Grant.

A bit surprising turn of events I'd say...

Figo: Mourinho heading to Inter

Inter Milan winger Luis Figo claims his club have told him Jose Mourinho will be in charge of the Nerazzurri next season.

Quote:

"By now everyone knows that Mourinho is coming to Inter, the club have informed me of this too," he told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

He added: "With the Nerazzurri, Mourinho can win the Champions League. However, I still haven't spoken to him yet."

Quote:

"Whenever there's a change of coach hope always resurfaces for those who haven't played very much," he continued.

"I still don't know where I'm going to play. My contract ends now in May, but I hope it's at Inter.

"I'm thinking about staying on one more year."

Inter plan move for Mancini:

Inter Milan's Marco Branca has admitted that talks are underway to bring winger Amantino Mancini to the club.

Quote:

"I will not be meeting the player's agent today but Roma have given us permission to talk with him at the end of the week," Branca told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"Mancini is a player that we are interested in and we have also spoken to Roma about other players who may be available."

They can surely do better than Mancini with £100m to spend.

Well he'll be going on the cheap, and offers them extra width. He would be a good signing for any team. They don't need to spend £20+ to have superstars in every position.

And it looks like they've got Quaresma on the other wing anyway.

Mancini may end up being a 3rd choice winger, so they can't complain.

Adriano will return to Internazionale, Sao Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio revealed on Tuesday...

Quote:

"The contract will be rescinded," Juvencio said. "He asked us for a resting time to return to European football and we accepted."

Before going back to Milan, Juvencio revealed Adriano will meet his Sao Paulo team-mates and club officials.

"We wanted to organise a farewell celebration but it will not be on the field," he said.

Sao Paulo coach Muricy Ramalho accepted the president's decision as he believes the attacker was becoming distracted by thoughts of Inter.

"His mind was not here," said Ramalho.

"It's obvious. Adriano's focus is somewhere else. He helped Sao Paulo a lot, but his time is over. We must remember the good things he did."
