England have topped the Fair Play league for Europe and hence will have an extra European place for the UEFA Cup, given to the highest team in the Fair Play league of England who haven't qualified for Europe already.
The top four in the league are Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal. The followers are: Man City Everton Fulham West Ham Wigan That according to SSN is accurate for only the first 36 games of the season, so it could alter after last weekend's games are considered. Big news for one club, anyway. |

just seen that on skysports. I have never been a fan of this way of gettin into Europe. I wouldnt have a problem if it happened to allow Newcastle to play though. would rather they just gave us an extra place, going on league table rather then fair play.

As long as Manchester City have a chance it's great news. Eriksson is making something with City, and I'd really rather not see them fall before they become one of the top 6 at least.

It's not even a good thing necessarily... didn't Coppell purposely try to avoid a European place last year because he knew his squad wouldn't cope? It could be a disaster for some sides.
Anyway, there's a potential 5 clubs in next years UEFA Cup, virtually half of the Premier League in Europe altogether! Everton (League) Portsmouth/Cardiff City (FA Cup) Tottenham (League Cup) Aston Villa/Blackburn (Intertoto Cup) Man City/Fulham/West Ham/Wigan (Fair Play) I have to say, if Everton, Spurs, Villa, Pompey and City managed to get into the tournament it'd be a hugely interesting UEFA Cup next year. Disaster for Blatter, mind. |

And they will definitely be relegated to the first division if they don't get eliminated soon enough (next season). |

its pathetic.
the fair play system should never determine who gets in europe. why is there even another spare place in the tournament for fair play? |

An ingenious plan by UEFA to cut out all the unfair play that plagues our leagues, surely...

if you read up the page clever b*llocks you will see we are 'in with a shout' of this fair play crap. i would be embarrassed to qualify via this nonsense. id rather miss out. european qualification should be via a hard fought league campaign or maybe a mickey mouse cup. |

Man City have had a man sent off. Not sure how this will affect a European place but it will certainly make it interesting...

Love the text in to the BBC commentary

With the table Becks posted, at 36 games, Fulham are the main contenders to City.
City got a red card and yellow, whilst Fulham got neither today. Be interesting to see who turns out on top. Also, the FA are deciding whether to take the English Fair Play League from the end of April to decide who takes the place or from the end of the season. Bizarre as hell, but it's because UEFA decided at the end of April that England were the winners of the Fair Play League. |

Hopefully it's City. Fulham aren't good enough or even close.
