From FairGame:

LONDON CUP FINAL

Charlton Athletic 4-3 Arsenal Sad Sad Sad

A superb hat-trick from 19 year old striker Sarah Snare
saw the Addicks retain the London FA Women’s Cup
after fighting back from being 2-0 down after just 20 minutes.

With the England squad training for this coming Sundays match versus France
both teams fielded a mixture of first and reserve team players.

The Addicks took time to settle as Arsenal controlled the early play
and opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a low drive from Gemma Davidson.

The Gunners increased their lead nine minutes later
after poor marking allowed Welsh International midfielder Jayne Ludlow to fire home from 20 yards.
The Addicks then started to force their way into the game
and after 33minutes 17 year old Ashlee Hincks measured pass found Sarah Snare
who cut across her marker before being brought down in the penalty area.
The England Under 21 striker made no mistake from the penalty spot
to put the Addicks back in the game.

Shortly before half-time Charlton came within inches of levelling the score
as Danielle Farmers shot on the turn went inches past the post.

Growing in confidence the Addicks pushed forward after the break
and a dipping 25 yard free-kick from Gemma Ritchie was tipped over the crossbar
by Gunners keeper Rebecca Spencer.

After 67 minutes Charlton were on level terms
as Gemma Ritchie headed home Eartha Ponds measured free-kick.

Arsenal were clearly rocked by this and just two minutes later the Addicks took the lead
as Sarah Snare burst through the heart of the Gunner defence
to send a thunderous shot into the roof of the net.

Snare along with her teenage striking partner Ashlee Hincks
were a constant menace to the Arsenal back line.

With 76 minutes on the clock Snare claimed a well deserved hat-trick
as she again broke through the centre of the Gunners defence,
her clinical finish giving keeper Spencer no chance.

As with Sundays FA Cup semi-final it was end to end play
and on 80 minutes a slack back-pass from Leanne Reidy
put keeper Ebony Cabey-Gooden under pressure forcing her to slice her clearance.
Skipper Karen Hills made a great blocking tackle
but could do nothing to stop Lianne Sanderson finding the bottom corner of the net.

The Gunners pushed forward in search of an equaliser
and in the dying minutes of the game Addicks keeper Cabey-Gooden pulled of a superb save
from an Arsenal free-kick tipping the header round the post.

Charlton Line Up: Cabey-Gooden, Reidy (Adams 80mins),
Hills, Sinclair-Chambers, Cardin, Farmer (Dixson 77mins),
Ritchie, Pond, Hickmott, Snare, Hicks
Subs not used: Cope Shocked Kelynack & Husslebee

Arsenal Line Up: Spencer, Pealling, Champ, Ludlow,
Barsley, Hutton, Larkin, McArthur,
Sanderson, Davidson, Gurr.
Subs: Buet, Ray, Lloyd, Wells, Daniels.
