Under every seat in the Villa away section at Upton Park the other day was a t-shirt with Mellberg written on it and 'Thanks for the Support' (or similar)

Paid for by the man himself, that is a great touch in these days of millionaire footballers changing clubs all the time and not giving a stuff about the fans.

Thought it was worth a mention here.

definately.

Mellberg has always been a player i admire, he is solid, committed and displays the kind of genuine passion thats all too rare nowadays. i would have loved him at my club and i have to admit i will be sad to see him go.

his gesture only enforces that view and i wish him every success.

not only that but he is a beard growing machine!

At last a player who uses actions other than just words to show appreciation to fans who spend hundreds of pounds a season on the team. With all the money they earn, something like this isn't exactly going to dent their bank balance, and us fans appreciate gestures like this a lot.

Take note Spurs players, other than Hutton and Robinson.

I had no idea you had this kind of affection for Olof.

"admire" "he is solid" "committed" "displays passion" "i would have loved him" "enforces" "growing machine"...

Steely admires anything that relates to "growing hair." I don't think I have to go further than his picture to prove my point.

Great gesture by Mellberg... I wonder why Harry Kewell didn't do that... OH RIGHT... he doesn't play...

Haha Ja Axe, when I first saw Steely had replied to this topic i opened it expecting something cynical and some expletives to be used but i was pleasantly surprised.
