seriously going to be a close one this year one of the following have a great chance:

1. Spain:

With a solid defence and possibly the best goalkeeper in the world spain have the foundations to build a decent attack in the euros. Puyol is a great marshall of the defence while both capdevilla and ramos have had good seasons and are both well equipped to deal with the competitons best wingers. The only problem in my eye's is if aragones picks marchena to partner puyol although he has bags of expeirence i feel his best days are behind him and shoud step aside.

Defence : Ramos , Puyol , juanito , capdevilla

The midfield is a really tricky one for aragones although i think already he has made a mistake not including jaoquin even if he has not had a great season. So with what he has picked id go with senna holding and xavi partnering cesc fabregas with silva and iniesta as supporting forwards / wingers. Senna has a accomplished footballing brain and will connect defence and midfield with relative ease , another option would be alonso. Xavi is the engine and his passing and awareness are second to none with fabregas roaming and being at his creative best spain are going to be very dangerous.

Midfield : senna / fabregas / xavi / silva / iniesta

Finally there are two alternatives drop iniesta and bring in villa to partner torres or torres plays with both wingers supporting him. Also both sergio garcia and daniel guiza should play pivotol roles in the euros......

Striker Torres / Villa

As spain are my top choice i have focused on them although i feel Italy and Portugal both have more than enough to win

Furthermore i will write off the Germans and the French even though it could come back to haunt me............

The Dark Horses for me are Crotia and Poland

Cheers mate Very Happy

I know i was suprised he did not give raul the chance he deserved ever since he started playing well again about 18 months ago....to be honest maybe aragones has somethin agaisnt him i dont know you would no better than me....although i rate sergio garcia highly i still would have taken raul not just because of sentiment but also because he has looked almost like the raul of old

Yeah you're right. Aragones has some kind of personal problem with him, there's nothing anyone can do about this... just wait until the old man retires Laughing
Anyway, I still think Spain has a very good team, but we'll probably be out in the quarters like we normally do...

I'm sorry. You had a very good team in that World Cup. We were unfairly out in the next round anyway... Sad

It will be intresting to see who's going to start up front France. Gomis looks like a very good scored 2 cracking goals in a friendly last nite. Think him & Benzema would make a nice partnership up front. Which would mean Henry & Anelka would have to start from the bench. But I think Gomis & Benzema have been on alot better form this season.

Guess it will be either Germany, France or Italy they have the strongest squads and they have shown that they are capable of winning a major tournament.

It is very difficult, but Greece isn't impossible to repeat... Greece has even better squad than the previous Euro and I strongly beleive that if Greece goes past the first round(should do as a European champion) then everything is possible.

here are the results of a poll in greece "GREECE IN EURO 2008"
Quarter finals 36%
Winner 19%
Semi-finals 18%
Group games only 14%
Finalist 13%

I pulled Croatia out the hat in the work sweepstake so I'm going to be supporting them for the €200 1st prize, or a ton twenty for 2nd!

Still the Germans favour for me!

Can't wait though. Will be interesting to see how the Dutch perform. They usually blow so hot & cold.

Italy V Germany final - revenge for the Krauts.
