Fan or Supporter |
|
As I see it there are two kinds of followers for Football Teams these days.
Fan - Someone unreasoned and irrational who fanatically follows their team and only their team matter. Supporter - Someone who can support their side but admit when they were soundly beaten and also praise other sides achievements and players. Which are you? |

I guess if you put it that way I'm a supporter, I'm not exactly watching Juventus matches only.

Do you go to games, every home game to see your team del piero from denmark?
I am a supporter, i follow dundee through thick and thin and if we played well ill say and if we didnt ill also say. Last season was a mixture of good and bad is why we finished second 3 kinds gazza also as we have arm chair fans like del piero and say big jono who cant get to there teams games due to living in another country... |

From your descriptions above Id call myself a supporter, I follow Finn Harps first and foremost and theyre the only team I really love. But with the poor standard of our league I watch both the Premiership and La Liga as an armchair fan & appreciate good football when I see it. Man Utd are my favourite team in England, I 'supported' them as a child so I still like to see them do well.

I gues if you class them like that Gazza then i am a supporter. I will openly say when we have been the worse side and always try to give a balanced point of view on Newcastle (doesn't always work mind). I don't get to talk about our achievements though. One day maybe...

I wouldbe a supporter for sure. I like to see my team do well but its not the be all and end all if they lose. I cant stand people who get really serious when your having a laugh about their team.

i'm a Gooner but I suppose I'm more supporter than fan. It's hard to compare in fervour to the English Gooners when you live in Africa.

Locally, I support Red Bull New York as well as my University's football team. I watch as much as I can (watched all of my uni's games at home and was probably one of five spectators) and I watch the Red Bulls if they have a day game in Giants Stadium.
I'd like to say I support Liverpool, but as GMan has pointed out, geography has hindered my ability to watch over in Anfield. If I did have a chance, I'm sure I'd watch live as much as I can. |

i'm a season ticket holder and a suscriber to skysports so i'm both. if i i'm busy with work and have a genuine excuse to miss a game then i will reluctantly watch the highlights without knowing the score behorehand because thats what the real football fans do. you can't be a fan unless you've actually had experience of being at a game and been passionate like the other fans. i'm afraid being an armchair fan doesn't cut it anymore. i see fans when at Old Trafford who are simply going there for routine and actually act like amrchair fans whilst at games. theres at least a section of them who actually don't care about the club they're meant to be supporting. On the few occasions that we do lose it can be rather embarassing because the opposition fans patronise you that much as if they've got this huge amount of power over you.

Being a Spurs boy, I can't be a fan otherwise I would get laughed at even more. I admit when we are shite, and I exaggerate when we are good. I have a season ticket and go to away games when I financially can. I guess I am a bit of both though.

i'll stick behind them, no matter what, they will always be rocking, i think |

Primarily i am a fan of football played well. Gone are the days of blind faith and tribalism , i have a more cerebral approach. Being outside of the country i think its' impossible to be called a fan in the purest sense of the word. There are teams that i like because of the style of play and teams that i have a sentimental link with. But to put my heart and soul behind a team that doesn't reflect what i am about would be sheep like and shallow.

Well im a supporter of A.Villa. I admit when we are crap, but when we play well, i tell everyone!

suppose im a supporter but i would only get over to about 10 home matches a year and no away matches and have only ever been to 2 uefa cup games and 2 Champions League games......
Also never been to any domestic cup games so in contrast dont get to see my team as much as i like , would probaly be more like an armchair supporter..... Finally would never watch a domestic game as it is utter pants |

Going by the descriptions, I'd be a supporter. After all I do live the other side of the country to my team, so I can't exactly call myself a fan in that way.

I guess im a supporter cos im a Leeds fan but i like to check results of the mighty sedge.
