I shed a tear or two when Preston lost to West Ham in the play off final a few years ago i was so sure we would win that game.

Shed a few tears when Walcott made that run and set-up Adebayor for that goal against Liverpool. I thought we'd won it and was in tears of joy.
But the joy turned to sheer disbelief once I stopped celebrating and wiped my eyes. I was too stunned to think about crying in shame or anger then. |

When West Ham won away at Man Utd on the last day of the season in 2007 to stay up I cried.
I'm not one to show my emotions usualy but it was a beautiful feeling at the final whistle to win 1-0... Nobody had given us a chance to win at Old Trafford and thought we would be relegated and even the disgraceful attempt by Sheffield Utd to lose on purpose at Wigan so they would both stay up failed! |

Yeah it was a bloody great day that drinking in all the pubs in Cardiff with your fans a couple of Hammers fans gave us some cans to take on the football with us nice bunch. It was a bad game like you say we didnt turn up which disapointed me after we had done the double over you in the league. |

First post!
I've cried a lot over football lately. No surprise, as I'm a Real Oviedo fan here. For those who don't know the story, Real Oviedo is an historical La Liga team, we are like the 15th in the overall historical ranking in Primera division... but in 2001 we got relegated to Segunda Division. In 2003, we got relegated to Segunda Division B (that's third division) and in the same summer we were relegated to Tercera (that's fourth division) because of not having money to pay player bills. Moreover, we started the competition with -6 points because we hadn't yet paid Partizan for Slavisa Jokanovic transfer back in 1993... The team was about to be closed, but we fans didn't let it fade away and fought for it. We managed to keep it going and we could compete in the 2003-2004 season in Tercera Division. We played on earth pitches, etc. Real Oviedo used to have like 20,000 supporters each year, since that the average is 12,000 each year, that's a lot for the kind of football we have to watch, more than most Segunda Division teams and some Primera Division ones. In 2004-2005 we got promoted but in 2006-2007 we were relegated again. This season (2007-2008) we finished champions of the regular season, but we had to play a 2-round playoff to achieve promotion to Segunda B. In the first leg we lost 4-1 to Caravaca, and everything was lost. But we didn't surrender and supported Real Oviedo in the second leg at home. Over 23.000 spectators watched the match live and created an incredible atmosphere for a Tercera Division match. We needed a 3-0 score. We scored 1-0, 2-0 at half time. Minute 65, we score a free kick... Almost cried of happiness. But the referee shows yellow card to the player who scored (our best player) because of the exaggerated celebration of the goal... come on, given our situation it's perfectly normal that he went crazy. And that was his second yellow card, so there you go, red card. With 10 men on the pitch, Caravaca scored 3-1, minute 80... We could still score another one and go to the extra time, or even score two. But then... Caravaca scored 3-2. We needed 3 goals in five minutes. And that was the last time I cried over football, that happened 2 weeks ago. In case you want to see some videos from the match, you can watch it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yge047glQxM |
