Paul Le Guen - Arsenal |
|
Arsene Wenger has denied reports that former Lyon boss Paul Le Guen will join him at Arsenal with a view to becoming the next Gunners boss.
It had been suggested that Le Guen would join his old friend Wenger after resigning from Lyon and hinting that he wanted a new challenge abroad. But Wenger says there is no truth in the rumours, telling the club's official website: "I know him very well. He spent some time at our training ground in the past. But he will not be coming to Arsenal. "He is a very good coach and has done a very good job at Lyon. They are a club that is very different to the way English clubs are run. They have a chairman, a technical director and a very good structure around the coaches. It is a completely different system. "I don’t know where he will go now. I am not even sure if he is interested in coming to England." Le Guen unexpectedly stepped down as Lyon coach after three successive French titles. He was immediately linked with a move to Paris St Germain but insisted: "I have the willingness to go abroad. But I don't know where and how. Staying in France is not my priority. I won't join PSG." |
