Argentina under-20 striker Lautaro Acosta has left Lanus for Spanish club Sevilla for a fee of $11 million.

'Lautaro Acosta has been transferred to Sevilla,' the Argentine champions told their Web site.

Acosta, 20, came up through the ranks at Lanus and made his first team debut in 2006.

He played in the side which won 2-1 at Boca Juniors in the final game of that year's Apertura championship, denying their opponents the title.

Acosta was a regular in the team that won the 2007 Apertura championship, the club's first national title, and featured in the Argentina squad which won the world under-20 championship in Canada last year.

Barcelona have completed the signing of Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres from Villarreal for 16.5million euros, both clubs have confirmed.

The 21-year-old will join the Catalan giants on a four-year deal after never having played a single game in Villarreal colours.

A statement on the Barcelona website read: 'FC Barcelona and Villarreal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jose Martin Caceres. The price of the deal is 16.5 million euros.

'The player will sign a contract with Barcelona for the next four seasons which will include a buy-out clause of 50million euros.'

Caceres joined Villarreal from Defensor Sporting de Montevideo last year but spent the entirety of last season on loan at Recreativo Huelva.

He becomes Barcelona's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Seydou Keita and Gerard Pique.

Don't worry, Barça will sign more players and won't be for the future. Hleb and Alves should be the next.

I know, but it's even harder to make Pato leave Ac Milan, especially at such a young age.

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Brazil fullback Daniel Alves from Sevilla, the player confirmed on Saturday.

'I am very pleased an agreement has been reached and that I will be joining a club of the stature of Barcelona,' Alves was quoted as telling Spanish radio station RAC1.

'I am an ambitious player and hope that by joining an important club like this it will help me to win titles.'

Spanish media reported that the 25-year-old international was set to move on a four-year contract for a fee of 29.5 million euros ($46.04 million), rising to 36 million euros depending on appearances and results.

Barca are expected to confirm the deal on Monday.

Alves, who can play on the right of defence or midfield, joined Sevilla from Bahia for less than one million euros in 2003 and was an outstanding player as they won back-to-back UEFA Cups in 2006 and 2007.

He was closely linked with a move to Chelsea last year but since the end of this season has made little secret of his desire to join the Catalans.

Alves will be Barca's fourth new signing of the close season, after midfielder Seydou Keita and defenders Martin Caceres and Gerard Pique, as they look to reconstruct the side under new coach Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal midfielder Aleksandr Hleb is reportedly Barca's next target.

He's really great at going forward and plays similar to Zambrotta, although I agree he still has some work to cover to reach Zambrotta's level. He might not be the best LB but he surely is one of the best.

I heard Hleb is keen on a move to Barca.

Argentinian playmaker Ariel Ibagaza will sign for Primera Liga runners-up Villarreal after leaving Real Mallorca, the club said on its Web site (www.rcdmallorca.es) on Saturday.

The 31-year-old, who returned to Mallorca in 2006 after three seasons at Atletico Madrid, said he had originally planned to see out his career with the islanders.

"I had told the president I would retire here, but I received a very interesting offer that I didn't expect," he said. "I hope the fans will understand because I have always given everything for this club."

Atletico Madrid announced Sunday the signing of Brazilian midfielder Paulo Assuncao from Portuguese first division side Porto for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old will join his new teammates at Atletico on Monday, the Spanish club said in a statement posted on its website without specifying the length of his contract

Opinions anyone?

He's solid but nothing extraordinary. Athletico really need to improve in that area and I'm not convinced he's the man for it. They should of gone for Lucho Gonzalez instead in my opinion.

Haha, Lucho Gonzalez is very good, but would cost a few bob. But yeah, if they could get him, he would be a much better signing.

Dani Guiza, the top scorer in the Spanish La Liga as a Real Mallorca player last season, has signed a four-year deal with Fenerbahce, the Turkish giants have announced. The 27-year-old joins his former Spain coach Luis Aragones at the Istanbul-based side.

No details were given on the transfer fee, which Spanish press estimated at 17.4 million euros. Guiza is set to earn an annual salary of around three million euros.

Aragones, who took over at Fenerbahce last week after leading Spain to glory at UEFA EURO 2008, was instrumental in moving the deal forward. The player scored twice for La Furia Roja in Austria and Switzerland, with his coach using him as a substititute for first-choice forwards David Villa and Fernando Torres.

Guiza scored 27 goals for Mallorca last season. He joined the club from Getafe in July 2007

Blimey, i thought he would've stayed in one of the big leagues.

Fenerbahce could become a force to be reckoned with.

I didn't expect this. I know that the manager is the old spanish coach but he could have done better. Fenerbahce were a good team last year but the league is not as strong as the spanish league. The player is 27 and i thought he would stay in spain.

I'd say £10-15m which A.Madrid can just about afford. Especially considering they really don't need to make many changes this summer and they have the CL money coming in.

At. Madrid could have a difficult rival in the qualifying round because I think that won't be seeded. Then perhaps won't play the groups round.
