Matejovsky set to fill Rosicky's boots |
|
With the long lasting injury of the Czech Republic Captain Thomas Rosicky; Matejovsky has been set to fill his boots as the playmaker. He gained his first cap for Czech Republic in February of 2007. He has proven his quality with the newly relegated Reading of the EPL and has been handed the task of filling the playmaker role for his country.
Will he be able to fill in the void left by Rosicky and perform with quality and help the Czech Republic advance? Only time can tell. |

He needs to play in order to shake it up and re-vitalise that Czech attack. Without Nedved and now in the absence of Rosicky they need a playmaker to really lead and create chances wide for the likes of Plasil, i have seen first hand Marek's superb eye for a pass and feel he really fits the bill.

Being the play maker and captain of the Czech Republic. These guys aren't being compared to him, but they are being said to fill the void left by Rosicky when it comes to being the play maker, creative person of the squad. |

I thought he did fairly well tonight after being thrown in at the deep end. He showed good touch, spread the play well, passed very well indeed and was not afraid to put in a few challenges. Certainly made the Czech Midfield more dangerous and more unified in the way that they played.

Yeah, he was good. Tough tackling and neat passing - just what you need. He played a really smart through ball to Sionko which I thought at the time was leading to a goal, but it just didn't come off.
Sometimes he had nothing to aim for as Baros was either marked by two or three and Plasil and Sionko weren't making enough runs. But I was impressed by him and Polak. Reading will do a good job to keep hold of him. |

Aye, but i think we might unless he really lights up as the tournament progresses. He could be pivotal to our hopes of bouncing straight back to the Premier League so it is somewhat of a weird feeling watching him for the Czechs, i want him to do well but in someways i don't so interest in him is minimal.
