Metzelder flattered by Bremen |
|
German international central defender Christoph Metzelder is honoured to have been linked with a move to Werder Bremen.
The 25-year-old looks a certainty for the German World Cup squad despite having spent most of 2006 on the bench for Borussia Dortmund. Markus Brzenska and Christian Worns have been the preferred central defensive pairing at Signal Iduna Park since the turn of the year and so Metzelder has made way. Meanwhile, Bremen will be looking to build on their third spot in the Bundesliga for next season and Metzelder has spoken highly of his potential suitors. "I have heard that Bremen are interested and it is an honour for me to know that a club like that would like to sign me," Metzelder told Kicker. Bremen's striker Nelson Valdez has already stated that he is determined to leave the Weserstadion in the summer, but Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc has denied rumours of a straight swap. |

I agree, i think he should definately move to a bigger club playing in the CL regularly. He has developed all he can at Dortmund. |

Just think of the past: The years after 2002 he never played for longer then 4-5 Games in a row because everytime he was injured. In the past 4 years he had 2 big injuries, he was near to sport invalid. At that time Borussia Dortmund extended his contract, although nobody was sure of if he's gonna play football again. And what's now? He is back in the team and he wants to play but he's not yet on the same level, so he often plays not in the starting 11, he's at the moment second place.
And what is he doing? He wants to leave the club.Just unthankful |
