I'm not sure, this is how much the uefa site has to say about the game:
"Finns defeated Russia now need just one point from their game against Finland on Sunday to be sure of winning their section. The Finns lost 2-0 against Portugal in their second game of the mini-tournament, with a 12th-minute Daniela Ferreira penalty and a 30th-minute Carolina Mendes strike doing the damage at the Holon stadium." |

Ah, ok!! Not that much then...

Don't forget Russia are defending Champions and I think they will thrash Finland...
I've seen them play and it's a really good team. Basically I see them lifting that trophy again if they keep playing this way |

Yeah but i hope Finland give them a tricky match!! Like you say they will more likely thrash them

Today's results:
Grp 1 Poland 0 - 2 France Grp 1 Serbia and Montenegro 0 - 7 Norway Grp 3 Netherlands 1 - 0 Italy Grp 3 Hungary 0 - 0 Slovakia Grp 4 Denmark 2 - 1 England Grp 4 Romania 0 - 4 Iceland Grp 5 Republic of Ireland 0 - 3 Germany Grp 5 Slovenia 0 - 3 Scotland Grp 6 Sweden 3 - 1 Spain Grp 6 Greece 1 - 4 Austria Grp 7 Czech Republic 1 - 2 Belgium Grp 7 Wales 1 - 0 Ukraine From FairGame: England failed to take the necessary point against Denmark in their last UEFA U19 Championship 2nd qualifying round match in Romania. A 2-1 defeat saw the Danes take the group, ahead of England. France brushed aside Serbia & Montenegro to top Group 1, Germany also made it three straight wins, beating the Republic of Ireland 3-0 to take Group 5. Scotland were second, having finished with a 3-0 success over Slovenia. The Netherlands 1-0 win against Italy still saw them finish goal-difference behind them at the top of Group 3, but the Dutch apparently qualify by virtue of the win achieved today. |

Mo looking to future
After emphatic victories in their first two games in the Second Qualifying phase of the UEFA European Women's U19 Championship, a 2-1 defeat to Denmark ended English hopes of reaching the Finals later this summer. Head Coach Mo Marley was understandably disappointed, but as she told TheFA.com from Sweden this morning, where she is with the U21 side, there were plenty of positives to take from the last twelve months. "We had two great wins but then when we came up against the Danes, I think a little bit of the players' inexperience showed" said Mo. "When the score was still 0-0 we had a perfectly good goal disallowed and the players let it get to them "At half-time, as Coaches we told the players to forget it, and carry on playing their natural game, as we certainly were creating more than enough chances to win the game. "One big lesson for the girls though was the need to be clinical against the better sides, with better 'keepers. We scored seven and eight in our first two games, but if you can't score two goals against a better side sometimes, just one goal can make all the difference, and that was the case." The U19s will next be in action in a home International Friendly at the end of May, and Mo explained that she will be using the fixture to look at some of the most talented England U17 players to gain some experience at a higher level, after they themselves have a friendly away to Holland on 20 May. "A lot of the players who have been with me at U19 level will now step up to the U21s if Brent [Hills] feels they are ready, whilst the younger players will come back stronger for what they experienced in Romania. "With Lianne Sanderson and Jill Scott being called-up to the Seniors, it sends a strong message to the younger players. "If they work hard, continue to apply themselves on the pitch, and work on their training programmes, they too will get their chance, and that age is no barrier." Source: the FA site |
