Talk about group B here. Who do you think will win it? Who will get second and advance? Any surprises? Can the host nation pull off an upset and advance?

Germany should walk this group, Croatia should take second, even without Eduardo.

Germany first place Croatia second, although don't rule out Poland, they might take the second place.

Yeah i would make sure not to dismiss Poland. They'll not be given a chance by most but could sneak in ahead of a Croatia side with built-up expectations. They did enough to suggest it's possible in qualifiers.

Germany will cruise it i think.

In football 22 men kick a ball around for 90 minutes and then the Germans win.

I went for Croatia or Poland.

First match for Germany is against neighbours Poland and you can see the mind games begin already. Germany are expected to win the group and go far, yet I wouldnt put them as favourites for the competition. Maybe the pressure could get to them for being favourites. Yes! Unheard of for the Germans!


Last match for Germany is against Austria, which will be a win, but they could be in a situation where Poland and Croatia have to draw for both to go through, regardless of the Germany result.

Croatia. What more to say that hasnt been already?

Poland finished the qualifying group top, ahead of Portugal, which is some task against the Brazil of Europe.

Germany to go through with Poland

1.Germany (Difficult to see them not getting through but rivalry with Poland could mean anything)
2.Croatia (Dark horse this year, without Eduardo though they may struggle to score goals though)
3.Austria (Home nation, have a chance against Croatia and Poland)
4.Poland (Big rivalry with Germany may get something there and are no mugs)

As deep as the team is i don't think Germany will win the group for some reason.

it could be poland wining the group ,but germany will do well in the ko stages maybe quarter finals and then done.

They've struggled the last two tournaments so there's every chance. Although i think this group is much easier and that should see them through...

Heres my predictions for Group B...

As always Germany have been drawn in an easy group and shouldnt have to many problems
going through as table winners and it will be like playing at home for them next door in Austria.
The lack of a decent striker may cause trouble unless Mario Gomez can step up to make a name...

Croatia..Have some fantastic players and a great coach in Slaven Bilic...I expect them to go far
and maybe even reach the semi finals at the very least if they carry on playing football the right way
Spurs fans are in for a treat watching Luka Modric and in Niko Kranjkar another star of the future...

Austria may be hosts but like switzerland will go out of this tournament at the group stage this time.

Poland have no chance to get out of this group and will lose all 3 of their group games in my opinion

Poland aren't as weak as people think. Although they did badly in the World Cup after a good qualifying campaign also...

you cant doubt germany really. And as croatia dont have Eduardo they may struggle for goals.

I think the only real chance of a shock being pulled off here is if Poland get themselves into gear and pull off a result against the Croats, which is not impossible. Although i can't see Bilic allowing another lackluster performance like we saw against the Austrians yesterday.

Well tonights games have made things interesting. It's Croatia who qualify first, not Germany as a lot of people would have expected. It leaves things wide open now, either one of Germany, Austria or Poland could qualify, although Austria have a tough task of beating Germany (or drawing depending how the other match goes). Mind you, Poland also have a tough game so the pressure's all on the underdogs i suppose if they want to qualify, even more on Austria being co-hosts.
