Maybe the first upset of the tournament ?
The Turkish coach reckons he does not have enough tall players to spend the game defending in front o the penalty area and thereore will play a pressing style and defend as high as possible on the pitch even 40 meters away from goal.
Young Mevlut Erding could be a surprise starter and goalscorer today.

Turkey playing a pressing style will make it into a good game. A few goals should be scored if that is in fact the case. Smile

I think we can beat Portugal.I say it cos almost all of the turkish team's changed. and we have numerious skillful footballer. Such as Arda Turan && Hamit Altintop. Well, being tall doesnt always help footballers.we have strong && active players. and tonight probably Servet Çetin will try to hinder Ronaldo's attack. We will see this night who plays better then. If we concentrate on match properly, deffo win it XD

I want Turkey to win because Emre plays for them but it would be really good for my fantasy team if Portugal won with a clean sheet. Whatever happens i will be happy Smile

I was hoping to see Veloso and Quaresma! Bah. First i miss out on Degen and then those two.

The game has been really one-sided and i can't see Turkey either scoring or holding out.

Oh, and ITV's commentary is the worst.

It is soooo bad ben! Did you hear when they said the keeper didn't even see Ronaldo's freekick, the one he saved!

And i have to say Emre is playing pretty good!

Fantastic final goal. I'm glad i'm supporting Portugal, because that was a treat. You'd never see England score a goal like that.

The commentary was poor. They were so up Ronaldo's arse, they didn't acknowledge what Nuno Gomes did at all. He played well, getting a fantastic assist and hitting the woodwork twice.

Portugal could've won it about 5-0 if the woodwork was kinder to them. They also had a goal disallowed which easily could've been given. They were good tonight, but still, i don't like the formation and line-up Scolari plays. Quaresma should play. I'd put Ronaldo in the middle as a second striker in a free role position to accommodate Quaresma and Simao on the wings, and have Nani as an impact sub. I'd probably ditch Petit.

My team:

------------------------Ricardo------------------------

Bosingwa-----Pepe-----------Carvalho-----Ferreira

Simao--------Deco---------Moutinho------Quaresma

----------------------Ronaldo--------------------------

---------------------Gomes-----------------------------

In the middle i'd also consider Maniche, Tiago, Veloso and Petit. Probably opting to put a defensive midfielder in there instead of Moutinho or Deco (his form has been far from impressive) against teams which pose a real attacking threat.
