I think it's surely the most boring match of the tournament. Laughing

I didn't think the French could ever surpass the supreme dullness of their 2006 World Cup encounter in Germany against the Swiss, but they went ahead and did it.

It's disappointing as well. Domenech is strangling a top quality squad.

You'd look at that squad and expect some of the old guard to start fading away and the young & exciting talents come to the fore and strut their stuff on the International stage. It seems that no matter who plays, they struggle.

I lost 2 hours of my life watching that rubbish which I could have spent doing the ironing.

I would like those 2 hours back please Mr Domenech or at least a bottle of french wine instead merci.

I guess some credit must go to the Romanians for getting 10 men behind the ball and keeping the French out...

Ahhh! My DVR acted up and only recorded the first half of the match. I was quite bored with it though. Very dull, and reading the rest of the reviews/reports here, seems like the second half was much of the same.

Yes both team happy for the 0-0 or a 1-0 win by sheer luck. Poor display from us.

You should be thankful you didn't have to sit through the second half! I don't know what was wrong with France.

Your DVR didn't "act up".

It developed it's own kind of safe mode and prevented you from damaging your admiration for football.

incredibly anemic game from France. The main problem was the midfield service ,absolutely garbage Toulalon was crap and offered nothing. The spark they needed was on the bench in the shape of Diarra .If they would have put him in just after the half the game would have been different. I think the quickness and energy he brings to the attack is immeasurable. He only thinks about going forward ever time he gets the ball
and has nice range of passing. As far as i'm concerned ,based on what i have just witnessed against at team that gave France the ball the entire game ,France's success depends on the amount of playing time Diarra gets.

Laughing That bad ehh. Good thing it didn't record then. On a good note, it recorded the Holland match perfectly fine. Smile Now that was enjoyable and that was how football should be played.

That's our excuse! But at least we have/had players like Scholes with celtic complexions that obviously aren't suited to the heat. Half of France's team tends to be from Africa originally... they're better suited anyhow.

Even if heat was a factor it does not excuse the fact that did not use the 2nd or 3rd gear at all.
They all run with their handbrakes on.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

It was an extremely poor game with no creativity or spark. It was just monotonous passing with no purpose... Worst game of the Euros probably...

poor performance by les bleus but all is not lost. Romania had one thing in mind and that was to stop france from playing and it worked. Just remeber 2006 world cup how france were very very poor in the group stages against teams who just defended but against teams who attacked us like spain, brazil and portugal we were unbeatable. Expect a very very different set up in the games v holland and italy.

As for Domenech his choice of putting maka and toulalan in the middle was crazy.
It should be like this against holland
coupet
thuram
gallas
evra
willy

makelele
nasri
ribery
malouda

henry
benzema
