And yes I checked all the pages, I do it regularly before games I play with my team as well because if I have to moan at referees I have to make sure I know the rules.

Yesterday they talk about the poor game of France and Pierre Ménès have said to Estelle Denis that we must change the coach and Estelle Denis is the girl friend of Domenech. Laughing

That is not a fact, as we can debate about it, as you may have seen. It might be true, but its certainly not a fact. Besides that, its not true. And i have some real facts for you.

Van Nistelrooy scored.
Sneijder scored a beautiful goal.
VBronckhorst had a great match, and scored.
Van der Sar had a very good match.
Buffon did not have a very good match.
Holland scored 3 goals.
Van der Vaart and Kuyt had great matches.
Italia wasted chances. The Italian attackers did not have a good match.
Italia defense wasnt good, as Holland ripped them apart in several attacks.
Holland could easily have scored even more than 3 times.
Italy was lucky that Van Nistelrooy slipped, as he was about to score a tap in.

You can as well say that Holland defense did not have a very good match, as they gave Italy some good scoring chances. Hollands chances were bigger though. And I think Del Piero had a good match.

As you can see from the facts, Holland dominated the game and they were the better side. They scored 3 goals and when you see the chances, you can only say that they deserved 3 goals. So I dont think you can say that Italy was better and they deserved the win.

Have a nice day.

Yes, you're from Holland but you have nothing to do with their victory. You were just watching them play and you're happy that they won, so am I. Why does nobody congratulate me? Razz

Italy have the oldest team to have ever competed at a major tournament according to the BBC.

What I'm trying to hightlight is that, while the average age of the Italy team may be higher than other teams, it is definitely not the reason they lost. Nor were they outplayed for the whole match.

The UEFA has said that wasn't offside.

Page 102 of "Laws of the Game" -
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/federation/laws_of_the_game_0708_10565.pdf:

Quote:
If a defending player steps behind his own goal line in order to place
an opponent in an offside position, the referee shall allow play to
continue and caution the defender for deliberately leaving the field
of play without the referee’s permission when the ball is next out of
play.

I don't care what UEFA says. They'll do anything to justify their referees.

It's like saying "You can cross a red light in an emergency" without defining an "emergency". You could say you crossed the red light 'cos you needed to go for a wee. It's an emergency for you, so it's okay.

Here the Law refers to the player "deliberately leaving the field", and it wasn't true in this case, therefore blatantly NOT APPLICABLE.

I remember heavily criticising the offside rule during the World Cup. It's time to get rid of the rule altogether, and rewrite it. IMO there shouldn't be any offside when the action is in the last quarter of the pitch. It would solve so many problems.

Buffon had a good match, how didn't he have a good match? He denied Van NIstelrooy twice cleanly and he made Van Nistelrooy lose his balance by jumping right in front of him without touching him but at the same time troubling him. Van Nistelrooy didn't have a good game as he missed all the on-side chances and scored on the offside chances.

How can the Italian attack line have a bad match and Van Der Sar have a good match at the same time?

Grosso had a good game, played the Dutch defense like a drum and almost scored

Zambrotta had a good game, ran the Dutch defense tired and also came close to scoring

Toni had a bad game, he lobbed the ball awfully and Van Der Sar did nothing about it, had the ball been on target it would've been a goal.

Within 15 minutes Cassano made a great assist to Toni, just 15 mins

Pirlo barely missed a free-kick when he took Van Der Sar off-guard, Sar was again absolutely useless as he was in the opposite direction.

In the end.

How could you not like the Dutch? They play great football and have no idea what defending is. Even at 2-0 and 3-0 up, they continued to go forward for more goals. We all know if Italy scored first, it would have become a really boring match rivaling the borefest from France v Romania.

Italy vs. Netherlands
