The two sides most expected to push Spain for group stage progression go head-to-head in this evening's encounter, as the holders Greece embark on retaining their title of 2004.

I don't anticipate much from the Greeks, and despite the fact the Swede's are aging themselves, i still think they'll roll out winners - 2-0, Johan Elmander and big Olof Mellberg.

I can't really see past a Sweden win here if I'm honest, although i would like to see the Greeks do well. Although the 4-3-3 formation they deploy may exploit a dreadful looking Swede defence, so maybe it is not a foregone conclusion. The Swedes still offer a significant threat with their creativity in the final third however and i fancy them to win 2-1.

Nah greece dont really have a chance tbh. its gonna be tough for them to try and retain their championship, i cant even see them progressing from the group. i think they'll start off with a 2-1 loss today to sweden.

1-0 Sweden i think

Larsson plays after not playing in the qualifiers at all.

Fair play to the old swedes - practically every single one of them is wearing a swedish shirt in the swedish end.

Like a sea of...sick.

Relatively lifeless opening half, Sweden perhaps having the better possession and using the ball better but Isaksson has been a little busier than Nikopolidis. Greeks playing the ball around at the back like its job done, but thats Greece for you.

A poor event indeed. Watching them both I get a bit more optimistic about Russia's propsects.

The Greek manager reminds me of Fred West.
