It was a bit stupid, but it happens all the time given the tension around at that time. There are always some pushes when a player gets fouled. It has happened now and nothing can change that...

Germany had a bad day, every team can have one. The Croatians were concentrated and the better team for the most part.
Those two goals really sucked. The first goal was clearly Jansen's fault, who had a horrible day and the 2nd goal was a little unlucky.
Whatever, Germany will win against Austria with ease and make it to the last eight and then we're gonna have a kick-ass game against Portugal.

Austria played better than Croatia for large spells and Germany lost to Croatia. I'm going with Austria next time, Lehmann should really hang up his boots or start playing like a classy keeper. The second goal was partly his fault, what was he doing so far from his goal.

Dude, you should know best that every team can have a bad day. Italy lost 3-0 to Holland. Does that mean Holland are always 3 classes better? Oh no, I forgot, the referees were bribed...
If you really go for Austria, you can't know much about football. Germany wins 9 out of 10 games against Austria. They won last game 3-0, this year. Go do your homework.

A really poor comment after Croatia's second goal.

Personally I can't stand Croatia's constant diving, acting etc. The red card was ridiculous. Germany played a horrible game though and deserved to lose. Too many errors in the passing game.

dont take it to serious Wink ....

The dark horses win Laughing

I loved it when Podolski and Corluka had a tussle in the second half, with Corluka turning round and saying "Boo!" scaring the [beep!] out of poor Podolski. Dont mess with him.

I wonder if there is any way Leko can be punished for the terrible way he conned the ref..What a jerko.
I hate to see so called profesional footballers behave in that way as they set a bad example for kids.....
It should have been only a yellow card for the German player for that push and not a red one!!

I thought Croatia deserved the 3 points today and they showed a big improvement in todays game.....
One of their players who has stood out for me in both games has been Ivica Olic who has given his all.

Germany were very flat and a different side all together from the one that beat Poland so comfortably.
I think Philip Lahm had a poor game and hardly got forward at all from his full back position which he normaly does.

Maybe the so called pre tournament favourites Germany are not going to live up to that reputation now?

shame it had to end with a few silly cards!

agree. how was that a red card. schweinsteiger was just pushing him away after being fouled.

yeah totally. it was a yellow at most. trust Jens to go over and get a yellow himself though Laughing i love that man!

yep i completely agree. no need for him to react like that, especially as he was the one who was fouled and he knows that fighting back will get him a booking too!

Don't know about anyone else, but i never really got into this match.

It was pretty slow-paced and too cautious. Germany were very, very poor.

Its never good losing, I get too much of that supporting England. Hopefully see you in semi-finals.

Great game. Exactly what I love about internationals. A hard working and attacking underdog overruning a footballing giant.

I think it's bit hard a red card for Schweinsteiger, for me he deserved a yellow card.

Well, a result I wasn't expecting. It was a complete turnaround for both teams from their first round of games. Croatia showed up today and played rather well, while the Germans had a really bad day. Podolski again with a goal, for some reason when he puts on the white shirt of Germany, he plays very well.

The Germans looked a bit lost out there today. Don't know if that was just them having a really bad day, or if Croatia were just that good. The Germans defense was also a bit shaky today, a few weaknesses were exposed. Either way, it wasn't something I was expecting. The Germans now have some work to do in order to make it into the knockout stages. And as they will most likely finish second if they do advance, they will be meeting up with Portugal.

This match also saw the first red card of the tournament. A stupid red card and a bit harsh in my opinion, but justified as well.

Croatia Vs Germany
