The Czech Republic and Turkey are facing penalties in order to advance to the second round. The game on the weekend will be for a second place finish in the group and the right to advance to the knockout stages of the tournament.

Both nations each have three points after victories over Switzerland and defeats to Portugal. Neither side can be separated by either goals scored or conceded. So this means if the match ends in a draw (of any kind) at the end of 90 minutes, it will go to penalties (not sure if an extra 30 minutes will be played before the penalties).

Uefa regulations state: If two teams which have the same number of points, the same number of goals scored and conceded play their last group match against each other and are still equal at the end of that match, the ranking of the two teams in question will be determined by kicks from the penalty mark, provided no other teams within the group have the same number of points on completion of all group matches.

It is an interesting possibility. I do love penalties. Adds tension.

It's a slightly better tie-breaker than UEFA coefficients or even "drawing lots" (which surprisingly they will do if such events materialise).

I could see Turkey winning on penalties, sadly.

Thats actually pretty interesting, hadn't noticed that until now. Although there is a chance of a draw, i think the match will be settled by a win, probably to the Czech's. But it would be interesting to see it go to peno's this early on in the competition.

didnt get what u mean but if u mean Czech Rep. and Turkey by those "teams" then u r missing that they have the same goal averages and same number of goals scored (and conceded of course). And there arent any other teams who will have the same points with them at the end of the 3rd matches.
