Podolski has missed training on Friday because of a left ankle injury. It is not known if he will be fit or not for the final clash in the group against Austria. As Podolski has scored all 3 goals for the Germans, it would be a huge loss if he is to not play.
Two other players are also nursing injuries. Marcell Jansen had a scan on his shoulder, but the results are still unknown, while defender Philipp Lahm has a bruised calf but said he expected to play Monday against Austria. With the performance Lahm put in against Croatia, Germans might be wishing he is injured and can't play in the next match.
The Germans need at least a draw to have any hope of reaching the quarterfinals.
