Seems the Turkish energy and youth won them the game really. The Czech's lost all concentration and motivation in the last 15-20mins.

The Czechs bounced to Turkish Delight.

Yes!

This is why Czech isn't the best keeper in the world and Casillas will show the same weakness sooner or later. Really enjoyed the Turks giving the Czech's a lesson!

Turkey won the match 3-2... One of the remarkable comebacks in European football history IMO...

They now go through to the Quarters... Absolute meltdown of the Czechs... How can they give up a 2-0 lead in just 15 minutes to lose the match I have no idea. The Turks were pressing for an Equalizer right from the start of the 2nd half and were caught out for that when they went 2-0 down and I thought it was all over. But they made a remarkable comeback...

That Arda guy, he worked his ass off and I'll pick both him and Nihat for the MOTM awards. What a cool finish to get the winner there under incredible pressure... I have to tell Cech was extremely disappointing. How can he miss that ball being one of the top keepers of the world? I'll accept that the conditions were very wet, but still he should've done better...

The turks deserve to win IMO and they've done it in a remarkable fashion...

Well done to them and congratulations to the Turkish fans around here...

Absolutely incredible drama! Best 25-30 minutes of the tournament so far in terms of entertainment value, the Turks were the stronger side early in the Second Half but they looked down and out as Plasil scored against the run of play but to come back like that and score three goals was astonishing, despite how poorly the Czechs defended and broke down. Ardan really comes up trumps when Turkey need it most and the last goal from Nihat was a superb finish, but he was allowed to get into that position too easily by far. The second goal was a complete and utter howler from Cech, just indefensible and Nihat was all too glad to clean up.

And then to top it all off Volkan pushes Koller, who went down like a cheap hooker, all six foot seven and a half of him, and is sent off leaving Tuncay to go in goal!!!

Madness.

I believe in that, this time you will see a different Turkish team. Everybody in Turkey criticised the players and Terim after the Portugal game. That was not because of the score but the bruise game they played. And the Switzerland match could be an easy win for Turkey if the rain didnt show up. Turkish players were getting close to their real performances in the second half of the Switzerland game.

For the first 2 games of Turkey, nobody (including the players) knew who was going to play and who was not till 1 hour before the kick off. This time Terim announced the starting lineup 24 hours before the match and its the same 11 in the 2nd half of the Switzerland match with 1 necessary changing in the defence. Looks like this time he knows what he's doing.

Don't see Turkey beating Croatia though. Volkan is out. Who's Turkey's backup keeper?

Tuncay in goal was funny. He palmed his two hands together and looked to the heavens - probably asking the powers above to not let a shot come his way!

Would have been more interesting if it had of went to penalties, but unfortunately it didn't. Still though, great drama and in the end a deserved win for the Turks.

Really nice to see Yakin score a double and beat Portugal in the other game. Although knocked out of the competition, the hosts will celebrate big style.

The only way it could have been more exciting is if the Czech Republic got a goal to level it with Tuncay in goal. And then have Tuncay make a save on the 5th and final PK to win the game.

Gutted, absolutely gutted.

Why did i choose to watch Portugal reserves over this?!

I'm also gutted that i didn't say Nihat was going to be the difference, because i was soooo close to saying Turkey will win and Nihat will be the man to send them through, but i didn't bother.

Oh and Cech, lol. What a clown. Only the other day me and my mate were talking about how laughable it is when people still say he's the best in the world. He was sh*t last season, and errors were all too prevalent. I'm not surprised at all to see him make a howler in this tournament after the ones he made against Aston Villa, Reading, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. If he isn't careful, he'll end up earning himself the nickname Calamity Cech.

Judging him over the last year, he would be NOWHERE NEAR my top 10 goal keepers in the world. He would struggle to make the top 25. In fact, it could be even more than that because by his standards he has been utter sh*te.

I f*cking abhor group A. Everything is going wrong.

I might just follow the right-hand-side of the draw and pretend the winner of the semi-final wins the cup.

Cech is still in the top 25 keepers in the world. It's a shame he got his head rung because before that, the guy was in the top 5 easily. He just hasn't been the same since the head injury and don't think he ever will. But he is still young (in terms of keepers), and could regain his past form.

He may well still be in the top 25 goal keepers in the world, but over the last year i don't think i'd have too much trouble listing 25 goal keepers that have been better than him.

Haha that was an insane game in the end! Had a bit of everything really, goals, controversial decisions, red card, plenty of yellows, and a twist at the end.

At 2-0 down, a lot of teams would concede defeat. But not the turks tonight. They showed great passion and belief, everyone in a red shirt was making sure every second counted, for example when Tuncay ran the flag to the assistant. Everyone wanted that win in the Turkey team, and they deserved it. One could look at it and say Czech Republic just went to sleep, and in some cases that was true. A few lapses in concentration allowed Turkey to come back into it. And after a bad mistake from Cech and a brilliant goal from the captain Nihat, Turkey fully deserved the win.

They now face Croatia in the quarters, which will be an exciting game to watch imo.

Turkey v Czech Republic
