Eidur to West Ham is big over here too in certain circles.

My West Ham source Al has also heard it from his brother who is a cleaner inside The Boleyn Ground. I think he said he is a cleaner, I just know that he works in Upton Park and that "The Boleyn Ground" is the official name for it Laughing

If I get more information i'll pass it on.

hmmm, i understood it was one year remaining. oh well.

i would imagine a fee of around £7-10m would suffice considering his age.

Al is Pommie. From West Ham, just lives in Oz.

I spoke to him on Sunday but forgot to ask about Eidur. We were talking about a more important team.

George McCartney the Northern Ireland international has signed a new 5 year contract...

This will be bad news for Sunderland manager Roy Keane who had been trying to sign the left back....

Still no offers Steely for Carlton Cole or Boa Morte...I thought Spurs would be interested at least!!

West Ham have signed Czech Republic keeper Jan Lastuvka on a season-long loan deal from Shakhtar Donetsk, according to the Ukrainian club.

Shakhtar's website states that Lastuvka, 26, completed a medical at Upton Park over the weekend.

The former under-21 international spent the 2006/07 season on loan at Fulham and played 12 games for the Cottagers.

Steely, just cover for Green?

yes, we have got rid of Richard Wright so he is going to slot in as back up.

you wont even see him. i expect our young promising keeper Marek Stech to get a couple of games, perhaps against lower league opposition in the Carling Cup so Lastuvka is really a nothing signing.

He looked dodgy as hell -playing for Fulham when he did, either last season or the season before, I think it was the latter.

Ljungberg has gone.

he wants to stay in Sweden to be with his family for the foreseeable future because his father is being charged with rape and sexual harrassment.

The British press wont report it as it is but if anyone can read Swedish you will find a bit more truth in the Swedish reports.

Ljungberg currently plans to retire from football completely if his father is charged but would like a move to Italy or the MLS if his father is not charged. There is an agreement that Ljungberg will not join another PL club for the next two years and the door at West Ham has been left open should he wish to return on a free transfer and forego a signing on fee

it has cost us £1m.

anything else you might read is completely inaccurate.

Alan Curbishley looks set to join the race to sign Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant according to reports coming out of the East London Club.

The English winger is believed to be valued at around £7million, and West Ham believe they can pip Blackburn to signing the former Arsenal player.

Pennant is a player that Reds boss Rafael Benitez would like to sell as he looks to raise funds to finance a bid for long-term target Gareth Barry.

I'm not sure how you're stuck for right-wingers (is Faubert left-sided?), and i'd assume if there's any truth in it Behrami would be used as right-back. But Pennant would be a fine player for many sides in the Premier League, West Ham included - he has pace, will beat his man easily and get the cross in, he's reliable in that sense. On his day he can rip up defences but consistency is a big issue for him.

Again, i don't really know what positions West Ham are looking to reinforce so you'd know better if there's anything in this Steely.

if Curbishley buys him then i will have lost faith in the mans sanity.

our right hand side is perfectly fine. we have Dyer, Faubert and Behrami all more than capable of filling that role.

i do not believe a word of it to be honest.

I see your not to keen on Pennant, but if we just look at his ability as a footballer i believe he could do a fine job for West Ham, and many teams in the Premierhsip. I just think he needs consistancy. Give him a constant run of games and I think he could be a very good player. He is very direct, has pace, and has proved he can play well against the best teams. He has had the better of Ashley Cole before and was one of our best players in the defeat to AC Milan in the Champions League Final.

His final product could do with tweaking but as I said, give him games and I am sure that will come.

West Ham are understood to be battling it out with Greek side Panathinaikos to sign the Marseille defender Gael Givet.

The centre-back, who has won 13 caps for his country, was a key figure in helping Marseille to third place in Ligue 1 last season but could be offloaded this summer.

Marseille have already brought in two new centre-backs during the transfer window and it is likely that they will allow the 26-year-old to leave the club before the end of the month.

The French outfit are seeking around £1.75m for the player, with Panathinaikos offering £1.35m and failing to meet Givet's wage demands. Reports in France claim Givet favours a move to Upton Park.

Marseille president Pape Diouf revealed: "Panathinaikos have got closer to us in financial terms, but we haven't reached an agreement.

"Givet also needs to agree personal terms with them."

I think he would be a good signing if this one happens and he has plenty of experience....
