Well no one could have predicted what happend last night in the czech v turkey game. I was rooting for the turks and once it hit 2-0 to the czechs, i like almost everyone else prepared to say good bye to the turks. Cue moment of horror for petr cech and a sublime goal from nihat kahvechi. However what impressed me the most about the turks was their never say die attitude. Even at 2-0 they were banging on the czech door relentlessly and the pressure eventually told. Hats off to the turks, as they don't have world class individuals, but who does in the age of greece in 2004, south korea/ senegal 2002. As long as the team spirit and determination is there anything can happen and believe me breaking down the czechs is no mean feat.

I think croatia will have their work cut out in the quarter final and i would not be surprised in the slightest in turkey emulate, dare i say, the greeks in 2004.

Turks often come around when they 're beaten up. This spirit liven themselves up. and i always believe we could achive it. remember the swiss match , this one is just like this we were defeated w/ 1-0 . but the 2nd half we kicked the 2 goal thanks to heroes Arda again and Semih. So everyone better not be sure about being the winner ,everything can happen till the 90 minutes.
Btw dont compare us with greeks , we dont like their football

"On my office wall at home it reads, 'There is nothing here that can be called impossible, and miracles take some time" said Fatih Terim today at the press conference. And after the Swiss and Czech games, he praised the players for their faith more than the play. He is not only a good tactician but also a good mental coach.

That's backed up by the Turkish performances.

Intelligent tactically. Diligent, focussed and hard to crack at times. Then great passion and faith to keep fighting.
