Discuss all things to do with Barcelona in 08/09 on this sticky here....

Can the Catalans recover after such a poor season last time and make an improvement?

Will new coach pep Guardiola unite the players and make them play as a team now he's in charge?

I think Barca will bounce back next season. They've already made 2 of the best transfers this season in Dani Alves & Kieta.

Just imagine how good that right hand side of Barca will be next season with Alves & Messi togeheter.

It'll be good going forward but still weak defensively. Both of those get forward a lot and Messi wont do much tracking back.

I still think they will challenge for the title again though, getting rid of some of the big egos should help and there will be a lot of youth in the team by the looks of it.

True they are weak in defence. But I don't think any Spainish team is that strong in the defence. Think they should sign another center forward aswell, I'm not to keen on Bojan.

Bojan doesn't do it for you? I personally think this season he will have gotten over those debut seaosn nerves which saw him miss so many chances and really make an impact on La Liga.

He is only 17. He was impressive for someone so young. he needs to play quit regularly, and in a couple of season's he will be unstoppable.

Anyone who can get in the Barcelona team at 17 must have something about him.

Bojan was one of the few success stories of Barca last year.

While he's nothing to get excited about, I think he's a steady defender and will be an asset to Ajax. 28 years old and good solid experience in some big games.......

I do hear lots of good things of him...If he is not just good enough for barca it can be so that he is good enough for Ajax.Lets hope so.

I'm not sure it's that he's not good enough for Barca, I do think Pep is moving in players and moving out players in an attempt to put 'his stamp' on the squad. As I said, he will help Ajax........

He is a average player(defender)at Barcelona but will do a decent job with Ajax I'm sure

Oleguer said a while ago he would never play for Spain as he is Catalan not Spanish.

I'm pleased he asked ex national coach Aragones not to call him as Spain won Euro 2008.

Even in Cataluna for once Spain was united and the whole country celebrated our victory.

More about eidur

Quote:
Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen says he is open to offers as he considers his future at Camp Nou.

Reports in Spain suggest Barcelona are willing to let the former Chelsea ace leave as he does not figure in Pep Guardiola's plans.

Gudjohnsen has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Barca side and the recent signing of Alexander Hleb has pushed him further down the pecking order.

He hasnt really been given a big chance at bareclona, a waste of a signing

Raul is right, but i think he could do okay for Ajax. He won't feel he's under constant pressure and criticism, so he could leave his disastrous past behind.

oh dear.
Oh well...maybe it is a good thing we have Gabri too...We all love him...and he is a great player.
They played both for Barca so maybe they know eachother.
today ajax and barca had a acord (or how do i say) about this player. Only Oleguer have to sign and then it is round.
I only hear good things about him(from other people)..dont forget that spain is a bigger competition then holland.
