So, the group stage is finally over. So who's your dud of the group stage. Who has disappointed you the most?

For me it has to be 'Super' Mario Gomez and following in a close second was Karim Benzema.

Gomez had a great year this year in the Bundesliga and it was expected that he would shine. I saw him play with VfB Stuttgart and he was a good player. But he has been a complete dud in the Euros. He's missed a couple tap ins (granted the first one wasn't his fault really as Klose slotted it too far ahead), but the most recent one was ridiculous. Open goal, 2 yards out, and he skies it over the bar. Completely disappointed in his play thus far. Lucky for him, Germany have advanced to the knockout stage and he still has the opportunity to redeem himself and shine.

Agree with Gomez but why benzema. Fair enough hasnt scored or did alot but hasnt did anything wrong.

For me is gallas. His defending has been dire and he is the heart of the french defence and because of this i feel france have not did good

I think Luca Toni has been disappointing in front of goal so far this tournament..
How many chances does he need to score?...He will probably get a hat trick against Spain now!!

Mario Gomez is the one that stands out certainly, coming off the back of a phenomenal scoring season with Stuttgart and looking worse than tame thus far in the group games. He looks very, very short of confidence, he's playing with no drive or seeming ambition and has just not clicked with Klose at all. Even that simple chance he missed against Austria, he could have flung himself at the rebound and it would of gone in, instead he chose to just let the defender head it off of the goaline.

Papa if you are talking about the chance against the Austrians he didn't blaze it over the bar.

Also for me i would say Florent Malouda who has carried on his mediocre form from his Chelsea season into the competition along with Abidal for France.

Defender: Thuram - It was easy to see that he will never, ever, be the same... again.

Midfielder: Ljunberg

Attacker: Klose - To be the top scorer of World Cup is by any means no easy task and need a top quality attacker. A player of his caliber should at least score once.

I have Benzema in there because he didn't do much at all. I had very high expectations of him after watching him a couple times and how explosive he can be. None of that showed, and I was quite disappointed in it.

Benzema? Thats just rubbish. He couldnt score because nobody was creating anything for him. Watch the matches & look how deep has to drop to recvieve the ball. Look all the work he did tracking back & help the team out. He was the only player on the French team who worked there socks off. If he was in a team like Spain he'd have a few goals by now. If the rest of the french worked as hard as he did they'd be in the 1/4 finals now. People on here just talk sh!te without actually undertsanding football.
