I hardly go out of my way to watch Utd games but I've seen a few - have you? Anyway I support Arsenal so as bitter a pill it is to swallow for you that Cantona was class, it's even blander for me.

Zola was amazing I'll give you that - there were times when he made my jaw drop right up until he retired with Cagliari. Definately underrated and probably superior to many of the players preferred to him in the national squad at the time.

For me to say he's the 4th best EPL striker of all time isn't an insult by any means either. Maybe it hurts your national pride but to put Zola in the company of Cantona in England is a testament to greatness and not to inferiority.

On the other hand, Henry could do everything Zola could do - including free kicks, long range efforts and dazzling dribbles. Add pace, strength and much more goals and assists and you'll have Henry.

Ok you have your thoughts but i have to disagree with you about Henry. His skill was based on speed and that's all. He was a very strong player in EPL but Zola overtake him in many things. Ability, possession of the ball, short dribbling, freekicks (see the one against the Spurs) and he was speedy too.

To say Henry's game was entirely pace is a common, albeit blatently wrong misconception. He could do everything Zola could do INCLUDING freekicks and I'll be happy to say it again and again and again.

And if you want to talk great goals against Spurs - Henry wrote the book. There's so many you could make a feature-length movie out of it.

I'm really enjoying this debate btw.

We can talk for ages but i dont want to make change your mind. For me Zola was superior to the 3 above.

Henry, in that Arsenal side that went unbeaten for 49 games was majestic, but was he the best foreign import into the EPL?

I am struggling to put him above Zola and Bergkamp, it's got to be Zola for my money, just !

Without question Henry was the best "Striker" to ever play in the premiership, his goals and assist stats ends any debate.

We are discussing about skills??? So there' no doubt, Zola number one in EPL.

ok well the title of thread was........

if you are talking about the best technically then Bergkamp is #1 ,but Henry had great skills (not quite as good as Bergkamp) and numbers to wipe all others out of contention.

Henry #1 best striker to ever grace the prem.

There is no doubt Zola was a little genius, after all Maradona was his mentor but Henry had a more complete game and was more consistent however Zola was easily a better free kick taker, I know Henry has scored many great free kicks but I read somewhere that at a point Zola had the best goal to free kick average in the world. Their technical ability are both similar but Henry's pace just edges him for me.

You have to consider that Zola played less games than Henry in EPL, so Henry scored more goals than him. I'm talking about skills and there's no doubt Zola was superior to him and the others. Then Henry was a pure forward while Zola could be a forward, a midfielder, a wing, the man of the last pass. I don't say it because i'm italian but because we know Zola very well and what he did in Italy before going to England.

Theirry Henry Video - Is he the best ever player in EPL?
