Notts County boss Steve Thompson has secured a quartet of new signings.
Veteran ex-Northampton striker Jason Lee, 35, has signed a two-year deal - despite having agreed a move to Aldershot earlier this summer. Out-of-contract defender Matt Somner, 23, has also left Aldershot to join the Magpies on a two-year deal. Thompson has also signed striker Lawrie Dudfield, 26, and defender Alan White, 30, on 12-month contracts following their departure from Boston United. The quartet are Thompson's first signings since he was recently appointed as manager for his second spell with the club. |

Macclesfield Town have signed versatile Chesterfield forward Colin Heath.
The 22-year-old began his career at Manchester United, and had loan spells at Cambridge United and Swindon before joining the Spireites in January 2006. ------------- Port Vale have signed Yeovil defender Colin Miles and Macclesfield midfielder Danny Whitaker on free transfers. Miles, 27, and Whitaker, 25, have both signed two-year deals at Vale Park. |

MK Dons boss Martin Allen has made former Bristol City defender Jamie Smith his first signing since taking over at the League Two side.
Smith previously played under Allen at Brentford during a loan spell from the Robins towards the end of last season. The 31-year-old spent two seasons at Ashton Gate, following earlier spells with Crystal Palace and Wolves. --------------- Darlington are close to making their third signing of the summer with the capture of winger Martin Smith from Northampton Town. The move is subject to a medical, but it is expected the 31-year-old will sign a two-year deal with the Quakers. --------------- Bury have clinched the signing of veteran goalkeeper Alan Fettis. The 35-year-old Northern Ireland international has joined the Shakers on a 12-month deal after leaving Macclesfield Town earlier this summer. |

Torquay United have won the chase for 20-year-old former Aston Villa midfielder Jamie Ward.
Ward, who was also being pursued by Stockport and Wrexham, has signed a three-year deal at Plainmoor. ------------- Peterborough have confirmed that Sean St Ledger is training with Birmingham. The 21-year-old defender played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly at Northampton for City. "As he is training with them, it gives Steve Bruce the chance to take a closer look at him," Posh chairman Barry Fry told the club's website. |

Former Aberdeen goalkeeper Ryan Esson has joined Shrewsbury Town.
Esson has agreed a two-year deal at Gay Meadow after ending a ten-year stay with Aberdeen last season. The 26-year-old started almost 100 first-team games for the Dons and made 18 appearances in the Scottish Premier League last season. ------------ Midfielder Clint Easton has left Wycombe to join League One side Gillingham on a free transfer. The 28-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Priestfield with the option of a further year. Easton began his career as a trainee with Watford before moving to Norwich for £100,000 in June 2001. |

Milton Keynes Dons boss Martin Allen has signed Jon-Paul McGovern on a three-year deal.
The attacking right-winger was out of contract after spending two seasons at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. McGovern was a trainee at Celtic and had a loan spell at Sheffield United before he joined Livingston on a free transfer in July 2003. ------------ Former Chester City midfielder Tom Curtis is the latest recruit to Notts County's new-look squad. Curtis has agreed a 12-month deal at Meadow Lane after being released by Chester at the end of last season. The 33-year-old, who also had lengthy spells with Chesterfield and Mansfield, had also been a target for Conference side Burton Albion. |

The 23-year-old Irish keeper signed his first professional contract with the Magpies in March 2003 but left the club last October for non-league Burton. ----------------- Notts County have signed defender Dan Gleeson after a successful trial spell. The 21-year-old right full-back has been with the club for the last few weeks after leaving Cambridge United. ------------------- Torquay United have signed left-sided defender Stevland Angus. The 25-year-old, who was a free agent this summer, has agreed a one-year deal at Plainmoor. Angus joined Barnet after he was released by Grays Athletic but he did not make any appearance for Barnet because of injury. He began his career as a West Ham trainee before a four-year spell at Cambridge United, which included loan stints at Hull City and Scunthorpe. |

Walsall have completed the signing of former Port Vale and Wrexham forward Hector Sam on a one-year contract, with an option for a further 12 months.
The 28-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international has already been training with the Saddlers this summer and boss Richard Money believes he will prove to be a big hit at the Bescot Stadium. He told the club's official website: "Hector has settled in well here. He has mixed well with the other players and they enjoy having him here. "He knows what playing at this level is all about and has already built up a decent understanding with Martin Butler. "I think that they have the makings of a useful partnership." |

Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of former Millwall midfielder Sammy Igoe on a two-year contract.
Igoe, 30, had been training with Rovers after being released by the London club and passed a medical on Friday. Igoe began his career at Portsmouth and also had spells at Reading, Luton and Swindon. More recently he joined Millwall in July 2005 and had a loan spell with Rovers during January and April 2006. --------------------- Chester have signed Spanish midfielder Roberto Martinez on a two-year deal. The 33-year-old was released by Swansea at the end of last season after a year on the fringes of the squad - despite his position as club captain. "I didn't want to leave Swansea, but the decision was out of my hands so you just look forward," said Martinez. "I'm delighted with my dealings with Chester and I'm looking forward to working with (manager) Mark Wright. The football challenge here excites me." |

The 28-year-old was released by The Bantams at the end of last season after two seasons at Valley Parade. Holloway began his career as a trainee with Sunderland in 1995 and had short spells on loan with Bolton and Carlisle before Wimbledon paid £1.2 million for his services in 2000. The stopper made over 80 appearances in his four years with The Dons but left the club in 2004. |
