I'm so pleased that Nicole Barnhart has been given the berth as Hope's back up. Overall very pleased with this squad.

very pleased with the selection...very strong group. i'm glad for nicole she has done such an amazing job as a back-up with great performances and she deserves it. yay for hope solo!

I was a little bit concerned when I saw Nicole had knee surgery so close to the roster being announced but I'm soo glad Pia has stuck with her. In her interview Pia said that both Hope and Nicole good kickers of the ball. Finally someone can see that Scurry is useless at that part of the game.

Finger's crossed that no-one gets injured between now and the start of the Olympics.

You would be shocked Smithy. They are actually talking about Hope and Scurry on Sports Center and all the sports talk shows here (which is rare as they barely even talk about football in general).

They are saying Scurry got sacked. (not in those exact words). But they are ripping into Scurry and saying Hope deserves to be back on the squad. You'd be delighted.

I would be in me element watching them. So all the sports shows have now come round to the fans thinking a year on

I don't have a VCR (haven't had one for the last 8-10 years). I'll see if I can find some on YouTube or else ware.

Football in America is very small. They hardly ever talk about it on sports shows (unless it's a specific football show which is only on Fox Soccer Channel or Gol TV). So the only time when they show a small highlight on a 'regular' sports show is when it's about Beckham, or if it's a World Cup/Euro 08/Champions League (later rounds)/US Mens.

It has gotten better here in the last couple of years as they are starting to throw in more football highlights/talking points. But when it comes to womens, it's even more scarce than the mens. So was shocked to see them talk about Hope v Scurry.
